SOAP fans thought it was the Ender Peggy Mitchell, but the News of the Screws can reveal Babs is doing a deal to return - even before she's left.

The Albert Square legend shocked the TV world by announcing her plans to quit the BBC1 show later this year.

But the News of the World has learned that the departing Barbara Windsor has had talks with bosses to plot her comeback in 2012.

As a result, the Queen Vic favourite:lol:, 72, will NOT be killed off in a bloody episode to boost ratings.

Last night, our DeadEnders source said: "Babs will be back in 2012. We've already had discussions with her about it. She won't be off screen for too long.

"Right now, Babara feels like she needs time off to refresh.

"There's no way we're prepared to wave goodbye to Peggy Mitchell for good. We understand what an icon that character is."

Barbara has played the soap's matriarch since 1994 and although her exit was shrouded in mystery, she said it was so she could spend more time with her husband.

Well woopy doooo. The one trick pony who has two expressions Angwy and Puzzelled realises that without the beebs failing soap she is just a nobody

She's knows she's got no chance of a job outside of Eastenders unless it's a reality show so she's plotting her begging to return act now.

Well, she always said she wanted to be back in two years time, so I would not have expected her character to be killed off. Wonder whether Steve McFadden will take a two year break too or whether he will manage to be in the soap without her for so long. :hmm:

EastEnders producers today denied that Barbara Windsor has entered into discussions for a return to the soap in 2012.

The 72-year-old, who has played Queen Vic landlady Peggy Mitchell for over 15 years, announced her decision to quit the BBC soap in October to spend more time with her husband Scott Mitchell.

Windsor is due to bow out of the show at some point this year but despite the fact that she has yet to finish filming, a Sunday tabloid today claims that the soap icon has already begun arranging a return in two years' time.

However, an EastEnders spokesperson told DS: "Barbara is due to leave EastEnders later this year and there are no current plans for her to return to the Square."

A show insider said: "Barbara's exit is currently being planned by EastEnders bosses and the details are being kept firmly under wraps."

They added: "At this stage, no one knows how Peggy will leave the Square but, in keeping with her character, it's set to be explosive."

So now we have the Will She Come Back or Won't She Come Back ding-dong :(

" it's set to be explosive."

What else?

Perhaps she gets caught in a fire in a fireworks factory...?

I think the writers will kill of Peggy so Babs can't jump on the please take me back bandwagon. That really will be Sensational and Explosive.

I'll be pleased if she's coming back. Love her or hate her, EE won't be the same without Peggy.
