Scorpions recently announced that they are retiring and that their forthcoming album Sting in the Tail, set for a March 23 release date, will be their last.

The German power-metal group was founded by Rudolf Schenker in 1969, though some of their biggest hits came in the 1980s and 1990s. Power ballads such as 'Rock You Like a Hurricane', 'No One Like You', 'Wind Of Change' and 'Still Loving You' helped to sell more than 100 million albums during the course of their career.

Singer Klaus Meine broke the news of the band's retirement on its website. "While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was," Meine said. "We want to end the Scorpion’s [sic] extraordinary career on a high note."

The band's farewell tour will kick off in Germany in May and will continue over five continents through 2012.

I have seen them a couple of times in UK and they were great. Might just try and catch them on this tour.
