EastEnders star Emer Kenny has revealed that Shirley Carter's sister Tina could arrive in Albert Square in the future.
The actress, who plays Shirley's niece Zsa Zsa in the soap and online spinoff E20, hinted in an interview with DS that producers are waiting for the right time to introduce the character.
Asked whether viewers can expect to ever meet Tina - Zsa Zsa's mother - Kenny replied: "Not yet, but there's definitely the possibility in the future. I'm sure she'll be in soon."
Kenny also promised that the show's writers are to focus on "the family connection" between Shirley and Zsa Zsa as her character transitions from E20 to the main soap.
She said: "The pair recognise their similarities and that brings a warmth to their relationship. At first, though, they really clash and Heather thinks that Zsa Zsa's complete trouble - which she is! Elsewhere on the Square, there's a lot of story between the other young people on the Square. Zsa Zsa definitely gets stuck in."
On how viewers may respond to her alter ego, Kenny added: "It's quite interesting because I know when Zsa Zsa comes in, people will just hate her because she's a real bitch. That's quite intimidating because there are so many good bitches on the show - Janine being the queen of them all. Zsa Zsa's a little different in the way she looks and talks, though. So we've definitely tried to make her different."

I believe she is becoming a character in EE now, only the black in E2- girl has to wait a while but she hopes to join EE too at some time

I think its great that there bringing family in for Shirley. She's been a bit of a loner since Carly and Deano left. I didnt even know till the other week that she had a sister.

EastEnders' executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has sparked speculation that another new character could be heading to Albert Square.
The show's new boss, who took office last month, last night (September 17) tweeted a picture of an on-set bomber jacket with the name 'Tina' printed on the back.

Treadwell-Collins was soon retweeted by the show's press office, as well as current cast members Jake Wood (Max Branning) and Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) - sending the rumour mill into overdrive.
Die-hard fans will know that the on-set jackets always have character names printed on the back rather than cast names.
While show bosses haven't released any other details, fans on the Digital Spy forums are already speculating that Shirley Carter's sister Tina could be the mystery character in question.
Hoping that this is Shirley's sister. She needs someone now that she hasn't got Heather any more. I did think it odd though that Tina didn't turn up while Zsa Zsa was on the scene if they were going to bring her in.

I did think of her but I don't think they'd bring her back. They didn't bring her back to support Ruby after Johnny died so I don't think they'd do it now. She was close to Pat and with Pat not around any more, there's nothing left in the Square for her.
I think the writers have names that they like to reuse (like Russell T Davies did with Doctor Who.) I thought of Naomi as in Sonia's friend rather than the Naomi in the Spoilers.

EastEnders bosses have confirmed that Shirley Carter's sister Tina is heading to Albert Square.
Former Holby City and This Life actress Luisa Bradshaw-White has been cast in the role of Tina, who will make her first appearance on screen in November.

Tina is Shirley's younger sister and viewers will soon discover that there are a lot of similarities between the siblings.
Billed as "loud, brash, cheeky and full of energy", nothing about Tina fades into the background and she is bound to get up to no good on the Square.
Tina's arrival could lead Shirley (Linda Henry) astray and show chiefs have promised that there are big plans for the feisty siblings.
Speaking of her new role, Bradshaw-White commented: "I am so excited to be joining EastEnders to play Tina as she is such a brilliant character to play. Linda is an amazing person to work with and the energy between Shirley and Tina is explosive!"

The casting of Tina comes as EastEnders' new executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins continues to make his mark on the BBC soap. Since taking office last month, he has already brought in comedian Terry Alderton to play a new love interest for Bianca Butcher.
An EastEnders insider told Digital Spy: "Luisa is Dominic's second signing since he returned to EastEnders, and seeing as Dominic was the mastermind behind creating Shirley, there are bound to be really big things in store for Tina.
"Luisa is a great signing for the show. She's a fantastic actress and along with Linda Henry, the Carter sisters are really going to shake things up. There is a real buzz at Elstree at the moment as Dominic is starting to put his plans into place and everyone is really excited about the next few months."
Bradshaw-White has already begun filming ahead of her debut later in the year.

EastEnders newcomer Luisa Bradshaw-White has revealed that the role of Tina Carter was reworked especially for her.
The 37-year-old actress was cast in the role of Tina earlier this year and makes her first appearance on the BBC One soap next week.

Tina is the sister of established regular Shirley (Linda Henry). Viewers will see that Shirley has been staying with her estranged sibling during her time away from Albert Square.
Bradshaw-White told TV Times: "I'd never wanted to do EastEnders. I always thought, 'God no, I can't cope with that sort of fame'. But all of a sudden I got older and felt more chilled out.
"The casting director said she had me in as her wild card for Shirley's sister. The character was originally supposed to be an overweight 50-year-old who's past it. I turned up looking lovely to ask them if they had anything else, and they rewrote it for me."
She added: "It's such a good part. Tina is really funny and has some brilliant one-liners. She and Shirley spend a lot of time shouting, but there's real love there. They don't shout through anger, it's just what they do, and the next minute they're talking normally or giggling."
Shirley and Tina's brother Mick, played by Danny Dyer, will also be joining the Square with his family at Christmas.
Bradshaw-White's previous screen credits include roles in This Life and Holby City.
EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White has revealed that her character Tina Carter will try to settle down with girlfriend Tosh as they make plans to start a family together.
The actress hinted that the couple will be staying together for the foreseeable future, despite Tina's connection with Walford returnee Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy).
Tina has been developing a close bond with Sonia, but currently appears to be committed to her relationship with Tosh (Rebecca Scroggs) following their recent reunion.
Discussing the storyline on ITV's This Morning today (May 20), Bradshaw-White was asked whether Tina and Sonia's spark will develop further.
She replied: "No, not this year. I've heard rumours, but I've got my girlfriend and we're going to have a baby. Well, we're going to try!"
The actress also admitted that she was always reluctant to consider signing up for EastEnders before the role of Tina came along.
"I did Grange Hill for four years and Holby City for four years at the same studio," she explained. "I always would say, 'I can't do EastEnders - too many cameras, too quick, too many episodes, too famous'.
"Then I became a mum and I really chilled out. I got older and it's the easiest job I've done."

EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White has revealed that fans want her character Tina Carter to end up with Sonia Jackson.
Tina is currently in a relationship with firefighter Tosh, but viewers know that she recently shared a kiss with new friend Sonia (Natalie Cassidy).
Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: "People like the idea of Tina and Sonia, but there is some good stuff between Tina and Tosh when things are going well for them.
"When it's all going right, you can see they've got something really good."
Bradshaw-White also admitted that she and Rebecca Sproggs (Tosh) struggled to get the relationship right at first due to the fact the characters had been together a long time off-screen.
She said: "It took a while for Rebecca and I to get Tosh and Tina's relationship right, because they have been together and were already in love when Tosh arrived. We've not actually seen them falling in love on-screen.
"That's quite hard to do so it took a while for us to get to know each other. But now we do and it's so lovely, just really easy. Rebecca's so good at what she does."
Speaking about working closely with Cassidy, Bradshaw-White added: "I used to watch EastEnders when Natalie was on the show originally, but I was never fazed by the prospect of working with her because she's such a lovely person.
"Additionally, we didn't have to fake a past relationship for Tina and Sonia, so it was all a lot more straightforward between us. Natalie is hilarious and she's so easy to work with. It's an absolute delight to share any scene with her."

EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White has married her long-term partner Annette Yeo.
The pair entered into a civil partnership in 2006, but decided to get married following the legalisation of same-sex marriage in the UK last year.
Bradshaw-White, who plays Tina Carter in the BBC soap, confirmed on her Twitter account today (July 21) that the wedding had taken place.
Speaking about the occasion previously, Bradshaw-White said: "We know we're going to grow old together - I don't want anyone else.
"We're getting married because we legally can now."
She also previously confirmed that the couple's two daughters would be bridesmaids at the ceremony.

Tina has been fairly quiet on screen ever since her relationship with Sonia Fowler broke down last year, leaving her to take over the full time care for her mum Sylvie.
However, Luisa has hinted that could all be about to change as there are big things in the pipeline for Tina. Exciting!
Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: "There are huge things coming up, and it's full on for Tina - but that's all I can say for now. It's really busy at the moment but I like it. It's kind of crazy, but very exciting."
The teaser about Tina will be welcomed by fans of the Carters, who have understandably grown concerned about what lies ahead for the family with half of them now off screen.
Following the exits of Nancy, Linda and Lee came the news that Danny Dyer will be taking a brief break from his role as Mick (although it now looks like he'll be back on Albert Square before we know it).
But Luisa has an idea to fix the problem - bring back Tina's daughter Zsa Zsa, who appeared on the show in 2010 before Tina arrived.
"I'd like it if Tina's daughter Zsa Zsa were to come back," Luisa said. "Now that Tina is maturing, it would be interesting to see how she'd deal with looking after her child, and how it would all play out now Zsa Zsa is grown up.
"I've never actually met [Zsa Zsa actress] Emer Kenny but we do follow each other on Twitter."
