Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his manager told The Associated Press.

Sam Maydew said the 73-year-old actor, who recently wrapped shooting the second season of the Starz drama Crash, is being treated at the University of Southern California. Hopper has canceled all travel plans to focus on his treatment.

"We're hoping for the best," Maydew said.

Hopper's health was in the headlines last month when he was hospitalized in New York for flulike symptoms and a stomach ailment and was forced to back out of a number of TV appearances. He checked out of the hospital the next day after being treated for dehydration.

Medics have reportedly informed Dennis Hopper that he may be facing his final days.

The 73-year-old actor, who revealed in October that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had begun an experimental treatment, is said to be losing his battle with the disease, according to the News of the World.

Doctors have allegedly admitted that hopes for the Easy Rider star are fading after the cancer spread to his bones.

Hopper is currently starring in a television adaptation of the 2004 Oscar-winning movie Crash.

Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce from wife Victoria.

Hopper, who's undergoing experimental treatment for prostate cancer, petitioned for it on Thursday. He cites irreconcilable differences and plans to provide spousal support.

Victoria is Hopper's fifth wife. The two have been married more than 13 years and have a daughter together, 6-year-old Galen. The 73-year-old actor has requested joint legal and physical custody of Galen.

Dennis Hopper's 47-year-old daughter Marin has encouraged him to divorce her stepmother Victoria Duffy, according to reports.

The 73-year-old cancer patient, who is believed to have only a few weeks left to live, recently announced plans to end his 14-year marriage to Duffy.

A friend of the family told Bang Showbiz: "It's so horrible, Dennis is at home, Victoria and Galen - his six-year-old daughter with her - are living there as well, and Marin is pulling her father out of his bed and driving him to the divorce lawyers.

"The poor guy has no idea what is going on. Even his lawyers are telling people he is on painkillers and is essentially sleeping all the time.

"Marin has always hated Victoria. If she can get her father to reject Victoria on his deathbed, and get more money in the process, she'll be the happiest woman in Los Angeles."

Hopper has four children from his five marriages.

Dennis Hopper’s wife has been accused of trying to kill her actor husband according to TMZ.

The shocking allegation made by Hopper's assistant has been uncovered in court documents, revolving around the 'Easy Rider' actor’s attempt to divorce his wife of 14 years, Victoria.

Hopper’s assistant, Emily Davis, made the claim, but didn’t specify details.

Davis also alleges that everyone in the house was “at the mercy of (her) cruelty” when Hopper was taken to hospital last year for treatment for prostate cancer.

She added, “(Victoria) is a threat to all in the home and has already looted millions of [dollars in] property that is not hers.”

Hopper’s daughter from a previous marriage, Marin, has also added that her stepmother is “frightening”.

Hopper, who has been declared terminally ill, filed for divorce from his wife in January.

Jack Nicholson and Val Kilmer were among those who attended Dennis Hopper's memorial Mass on Wednesday, according to The Associated Press.

The two-time Oscar nominee died Saturday after succumbing to his battle with prostate cancer. The funeral took place in Ranchos de Taos, N.M., where Hopper, 74, lived for 12 years following the film Easy Rider, which he directed.

The service lasted two hours in a chapel at the San Francisco de Asis church. A private burial followed the service.

In March, Rider co-star Nicholson attended Hopper's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. "It was a very singular relationship I had with him, like nobody else. We were soul mates in a way. I really miss him," Nicholson said at the funeral.

Hopper's son, Henry Lee Hopper — who read poems from Walt Whitman's Leave of Grass at the funeral — and a few family members also spoke at the service.

Dennis Hopper's family and friends turned out to pay tribute to the actor at a memorial service in California on Monday.

The Easy Rider star's first wife, Brooke Hayward, his daughter Marin, and several of his pals, including director Dwight Yoakam and artist Ed Ruscha, all attended the touching service on the Santa Monica Pier.

Eulogies were read out by Hopper's art dealer friend Tony Shafrazi and Yoakam, who also sang during the memorial.

It was held just a day after the opening of an exhibition of the actor's artwork, entitled Double Standard, at Los Angeles' Geffen Contemporary, which is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

The display, featuring 200 pieces, is described as the "first comprehensive survey of Hopper's prolific work" and showcases his art, film, photography and sculpture works.

During the opening on Sunday, MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch praised the late star's talent. He says, "His fusion of artistic media has become an inspiration for the new artistic generation who often draw on performance and film as well as painting, sculpture, and photography in the creation of their work."
