2736: Gilly proposes to Cheryl

Zoe prepares to film Hannah in hospital, although she's still not convinced that it's a good idea. Nancy arrives and the girls start chatting about old times. It's quite a relaxed atmosphere, but as Hannah's food arrives, the mood quickly changes. Zoe leaves to take a call and returns to a very edgy Hannah who, even with the distraction of her friends, can't bring herself to eat a single mouthful.
In frustration, Hannah lets rip at a clearly shaken Zoe until she flees the room, followed by Nancy. While outside, Zoe reveals that the call was to let her know that Lydia has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Returning to Hannah's room, they find a much calmer Hannah with an empty plate, having eaten her dinner.
Zoe and Nancy are pleased for her, but as Zoe tries to rewind the tape that's been filming, Hannah rages and destroys it. Zoe and Nancy leave a guilty Hannah alone. Will she find the strength to overcome her demons?
After embarking on an unlikely relationship, Lauren and Gaz cause a stir by sharing a kiss in the common room. Anita's jaw nearly hits the floor as she witnesses the encounter between her best friend and enemy and confronts her about it. Theresa reminds Lauren that Gaz is a racist thug who tried to attack her but Lauren quickly reminds Anita that she attacked Gaz and almost killed him.
In her anger, Anita tells Lauren that she thinks she's pathetic for hiding behind her emo look when everyone else has moved on. Lauren's given food for thought. Later, Lauren tells Gaz that she's thinking of changing her image but he tells her that she should just be herself. Later, Lauren thanks Gaz for giving her a wake up call - she's finally ready to reveal the real Lauren Valentine.
Meanwhile, still furious over Gilly's accusations, Cheryl rants to anyone who'll listen as she's adamant that she won't take him back. Having had her ear chewed throughout the day, Steph can't help but think that Cheryl's over-reacting. When Gilly arrives to apologise, she refuses to listen and tells him to leave. As Gilly tries to impress Cheryl, Steph's heart melts. To her, Gilly is the perfect, romantic boyfriend but Cheryl remains frosty. Gilly eventually leaves, disheartened by Cheryl's rejection.
In a last ditch attempt to win his girl around, Gilly stands on top of the archway and declares his love through a loud speaker. Will this romantic gesture be enough to win Cheryl's around? And what will Cheryl say when Gilly proposes?
Elsewhere, despite Cindy using his money for her new boutique, Tony's certain that she'll soon get bored. Cindy, however, is determined to make her business a success and with India's help, she has the shop looking amazing. In Il Gnosh, Dominic can't understand why Tony's being so negative - it's like he wants her to fail. Dom's clearly hit the nail on the head and Tony's left to question his own motives.
The boutique's a success from the start and the money begins rolling in, much to Cindy's delight. Fed up, Dom tells Tony that he's being pathetic when Tony berates him for shopping at the boutique. With that, Tony's forced to admit his fears that Cindy won't need him any longer now that she's earning her own money.

With business booming at the boutique, Cindy's joy is overshadowed by Tony's lack of support. When he hears that Cindy's meeting with a supplier, his jealousy gets the better of him and he sets out to teach Cindy a lesson. Tony secretly watches an excitable Cindy leave for her appointment and lets himself into the boutique.
Later, as he's serving in Il Gnosh, Cindy rushes in to ask for his help - she can't turn the alarm off. Tony relishes the opportunity to point out exactly how much she relies on him and agrees to reset the alarm for her. Tony's satisfaction is short-lived, though, as Cindy expresses her frustration about his attitude towards her.
With that, Tony reveals his concerns, before confessing to meddling with the alarm. He goes on to admits that he wants her to need him, prompting a guilt-ridden Cindy to declare her love for him.
Happily assured that she doesn't want to leave him, Tony reciprocates and presents his wife with a surprise gift. Cindy's delighted with her new sign for 'Cincerity' and the newfound support of her loving husband.
Meanwhile, Cheryl's suffering with a hangover but her excitement over her engagement is unmistakeable. In order to honour their decision to keep the news quiet for the time being, Cheryl makes every effort to keep everyone in the dark but happily admits that she and Gilly are back together.

Unable to come to an agreement, Zak's incredulous when Carmel shows up, informing him of a noise complaint and he has no choice but to concede. Zak plots to exact his revenge and Elliot's surprised when Sheila turns up.
When Elliot declines to break from his work, Sheila reveals her sadness over the death of her cat and admits that when she heard he wanted to see her, it was a comfort to. Neville and Suzanne plan a day at the beach to celebrate Hannah's homecoming from hospital. However, not all the Ashworths are as keen as it gradually dawns on Hannah that Rhys won't be attending because of her. Duncan's disappointed not to be included in the family fun, while Rhys is firm that he's not going.
The day out takes its toll on Hannah as she stubbornly stays in the car, while Josh, Neville and Suzanne head down to the beach. At The Dog, Gilly accuses Rhys of not caring about his family and after an angry exchange, Gilly walks out, leaving a pensive Rhys thinking.
At the beach, Hannah finally joins her family and heads down to the beach. Neville, however, suddenly realises that he's left the sandcastle equipment at home and everyone's spirits are dampened - until Rhys makes a surprise appearance with the buckets and spades. Celebrating the day, everyone's on top form and as they prepare to toast the family, Hannah has another agenda. With that, Hannah announces that she wants to move away from Hollyoaks to make her recovery. Realising that her move is the only way Hannah can control her own destiny, Rhys gives his blessing - and one by one, so do the rest of her family. For Hannah, this is the start of her journey on her own terms…
