Photograph Competition

Hiii :D

Was thinking earlier of something fun we could do, and I thought if people were interested we could do a photograph competition..
Where each week we have a theme of something i.e summer, funny, peaceful..etc... and people send in photos that they have taken that represent that (can be photos that have been previously taken). With votes of the best photo (pictures will be put up anonymously to avoid favouritism :p), and eventually an overall winner.

Is anyone interested? I'm sure the majority of us have cameras, and it's just a bit of fun really.

If anyone is interested reply to the thread, and if there is enough interest, I'll start it off..

Not going to say a date, but shall be coming soon. Just working out some stuff. Not sure how long it will go on either. Probs til I run out of themes or til interest starts to go low.

How long will we get between knowing what the theme is and when the deadline is ?

Hmmm I dont know lol, its probably ok, are we using pics we have already taken? Cos if its a theme that I need to go take a new pic for it will depend on how much time we need

Well the idea is that you take a new picture.. but if you already have a pic that fits well with the theme, then that can be used..

Photograph Competition

Competition will start Monday 8th February (Monday coming).

- The first "subject" will be released on the Monday.

- You will have a week to take your photograph. (Remember, photos can be previously taken, but be taken by you). Send the photos to me via PM or email if you have not got PM facility. If via email, please state your Soapboards usernamer :).

- Then the following Monday, voting will start. Each photograph will be put up anonymously.

- You will pick your 1st, 2nd and 3rd favourite pictures (preferrably focusing on the photography, taking in consideration the topic).

- Points will then be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, with a scoreboard being kept.

- Winners announced the Sunday after voting starts. Then the winnner will pick the nect topic, to be started on the Monday. And so it starts again..

How do you send photos via pm?

Ok good question. Didn't think that one through.
So you can either upload it to an image hosting site, such as "Photobucket" or "imageshack", then send me the link via PM.
Or alternatively, just send via email, if that's easier for people. I'll make sure my email address is in my profile now.

Okay Siobhan has picked a new topic, and I must say I love the topic :D As Siobhan said, it's a topic that the majority of you should be able to join in with :D.
It is Funny.
"Funny Pictures".. can be anything that makes you laugh, a funny sign in a shop, a picture of someone just having a laugh or anything that catches your eye that makes you laugh out loud. I quoted because I liked what Siobhan said, and it made me smile :D

Hi. I've only just seen this thread, being new to the forum. I'd certainly join in where I could.

I love the idea because I used to belong to a forum than ran a monthly competition. A month gives people more time to find the theme in question as the photo had to be taken within that month. It was held in a general Photography section though.

Each month's entries would be placed in a stickied section of the forum by the individuals taking part then, on the last entry day, a vote would be placed so that people could choose which photo they thought was most pleasing to the eye.

The winner would pick the next theme. :)

Sorry, I don't know if any of this has previously been said as I haven't read it from the beginning, but I will read back soon. :D

My camera has got severe camera shake on it so I can't take part :( In theory I could use a photograph I've already taken but it would depend on the category.
