Actress Margi Clarke has returned to filming with Coronation Street as Tyrone Dobbs's loudmouth mother Jackie.
Last week, the 55-year-old Liverpudlian walked back onto the cobbles for the first time in a year to film scenes in connection with her son Tyrone's tumultuous marriage to his adulterous wife Molly (Vicky Binns).
A Weatherfield source told DS: "With Tyrone and Molly's marriage potentially in jeopardy, how will Jackie's arrival affect the course of events? More to the point, why does she even return?"
Jackie last appeared at the beginning of the year for Tyrone's wedding to Molly. Before fleeing into the night, she stole the newlyweds' honeymoon tickets to Paris.
Earlier this year, Tyrone actor Alan Halsall called for Clarke's full-time return. He told DS at the time: "I'd like to see Margi return full-time, but whether Tyrone as a character would is a different matter!"
Clarke returns to screens as Jackie in late February.

I think I would love to see her come back and give Molly a piece of her mind!
I am sure she will, although it would be rather hypocritical of her

Dear god , please ... don't bring her back , a waste of space. I can't stand her.
To some extent I can see the producers reasoning in bringing her back However it would need to be much better than her last appearance when she stole the tickets. That was crap and pointless. Margi Clarke has been good in the past and maybe with the right storyline and script could be good again.
no doubt she will found out about Molly's affair and probably blackmail her

I feel the same way I find her acting a little wooden :(
I can't stand Margi Clark in Corrie - she's so over-the-top and her acting is appalling. Please make her stay a short one!

CHEATING Molly Dobbs will get a battering from her mum-in-law.
There will be blood on the cobbles when Jackie Dobbs turns up to mend her son’s broken heart.
Tyrone (Alan Halsall, 27) is devastated when wife Molly leaves him.
He is clueless about her affair with pal Kevin Webster, played by Michael Le Vell, 45.
But Jackie (Margi Clarke, 55) guesses the minx has another man on the side.
She launches herself at Molly (Vicky Binns, 27), raging: “You’re nothing but a plate-faced slapper with elevator knickers.”
Fists fly and Jackie lands a perfect right hook on Molly’s chin, yelling: “If you go near Tyrone again you’re dead meat.”

I disagree, she has never cared for him, only used him when it suited her. And then ripped him off and let him down again. Sanctimonious b*tch. I hope Molly wallops her right back

Coronation Street has confirmed an off-screen death for a former character.
In upcoming scenes, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) is left shocked after he receives a knock at the door from the police who share the devastating news that his mum, Jackie, has died.
Jackie Dobbs, played by Margi Clarke, first appeared on the soap in 1998, but was written out a year later. The character was reintroduced in 2008, and Jackie continued to make brief appearances on the soap for several years, until she was written out again in March 2010.
We haven't seen Tyrone's troublesome mother Jackie on screen since then, when she returned to the cobbles to support her son after his wife, Molly Compton (Vicky Binns), left him.
In confronting Molly in the corner shop, Jackie finally showed her caring side, but eventually returned to her old ways when she started inviting men back to the house and engaging in one night stands.
Things reached a head when Jackie tried to convince Tyrone that Molly was robbing the place when she saw her packing up some belongings, but it ultimately led to Tyrone throwing Jackie out and wiping his hands of her.
How will Tyrone feel about his mother's death considering their rocky history?
