Actress Brittany Murphy has died following a cardiac arrest, according to website TMZ.com.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department told TMZ that they received a call at 8am this morning to a home listed as belonging to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack.

The 32-year-old actress was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and pronounced dead on arrival, according to the report.

Murphy starred in 'Clueless' and '8 Mile'.

She played the part of TAI in the movie CLUELESS..I just saw a bunch of photos of her and her husband, he looked really sleazy, I feel bad her life has ended at the age of 32 ... so young :-(

I've just read all of that, and he did have a pretty nasty past. Anorexia is what people are wondering about the cause of the death but it's being said it was "Natural Causes", when her house was searched they found the same drug that Michael Jackson was addicted to it in it, I don't think any of it add's up but that may just be me. Every time i read a article it say's different thing's about her death.

I lovd her in Just Married, Think that was the only movie i saw her. Also loved her singing Faster Kill Pussycat.

Brittany Murphy died from pneumonia and prescription drug intoxication, and her death has been ruled an accident, the Los Angeles Coroner's Office told TVGuide.com.

Murphy was "very sick" with pneumonia and had iron deficiency and anemia at the time of her death, chief coroner Ed Winter said. He said she was treating herself with prescription medications and over-the-counter medications.

"Had she gotten to the hospital, she may still be alive," he said.

Winter did not specify what types of drugs Murphy took. A full autopsy report with the list of medications will be ready in two weeks.

A large amount of prescription drugs were found in Murphy's bedroom, Winter said. Her husband, Simon Monjack, has said the majority of drugs were his, and he and Murphy's mother, Sharon, have also denied that Murphy abused drugs.

Murphy died Dec. 20 at age 32 after collapsing in her bathroom.

Putting to rest rumors about Brittany Murphy's health before she died, the Los Angeles Coroner found that the actress did not abuse drugs or alcohol and wasn't dangerously thin.

The final report released Thursday states that Murphy had "elevated levels" of Vicodin and drugs from over-the-counter cold medicine in her system, but no illegal substances.

"There is no history of alcohol or drug abuse," the report reads. "The overall appearance of the body is consistent with the recorded height of 65 inches and the recorded weight of 115 pounds. The body appears well developed, normally muscular and slim but not excessively thin."

Earlier this month, the coroner said pneumonia was the primary cause of death, with multiple drug intoxication and a low-blood count as contributing factors. The coroner concluded her death was an accidental but preventable. Police have repeatedly said that no foul play is suspected.

Health authorities are investigating whether Brittany Murphy and her screenwriter husband Simon Monjack were killed because of mould in their LA home.

The 'Clueless' star collapsed and died in her shower last Christmas, with a ruling of death from pneumonia complicated by use of prescription drugs. Five months later her husband went into cardiac arrest and died at their home.

Mould was discussed during an investigation into Murphy's death, but it was soon dismissed as just a contributory factor, reports TMZ. But following last week's revelation that Monjack also died from pneumonia, Murphy's mother Sharon has allowed health investigators to examine the lavish property, which was previously owned by Britney Spears.

Mould poisoning attacks the respiratory system and affects millions of people every year. Mould can hide in a house for years without anyone realising it.

Sharon is believed to be flying back from England to help those investigating her daughter's death.
