Guys What is your take on the climate change deal situation

I admire this guy for taking matters in to his one hands and wasting no time. Just wanted to find out general opinion :) what do you guys think.
Copenhagen, Denmark - Delegates at the U.N. Climate Change Conference are "running short on time" to reach agreement on a deal, U.S. President Barack Obama told them Friday.
"There is no time to waste," he said. "Now I believe it's the time for the nations and the people of the world to come behind a common purpose. We are ready to get this done today, but there has to be movement on all sides."

Yes, and after that "rousing" speech from Obama, he left the conference without committing to anything. Why the hell would America sign up to a climate change agreement when they're the biggest contributers to global warming? They can say goodbye to buying carbon emissions allowances from poor countries so that they don't have to attempt to reduce theirs and all the other stuff they do that contributes if they sign an agreement.

America still hasn't ratified the Kyoto agreement after eleven years and has no intention to do so' I highly doubt that they will sign anything binding from this conference. For the record, there are only a handful of countries in the world that have not signed at all and only one that has signed but not ratified.

Until America play ball it's a waste of everyone's time sitting round a table and discussing climate change.
