View Full Version : Love Actually
I watch this movie the other day and forgot how much I loved it.. it is funny and sad and warm and fuzzy!
My favourite lines is when Bill goes to see Ant and Dec and they say that there is kids watching, his next line is brilliant:
"Hey kids, don't buy drugs! become a pop star and you get them for free" :rotfl:
Or when the kid tells her mum she is the lobster in the christmas nativity play :rotfl:
My favourite scenes are the man holding the card to his friends new wife saying he is in love with her and when the woman thinks her husband has bought her a necklace and it was a CD... Love that scene and the song "both sides now" is very apt for it..
If you haven't seen it, do so. It will make you feel all christmasy and it is really funny in parts
I love this film too, especially when the guy goes the the lass's house and tells her that he loves her using flash cards.
Is it on this christmas?
It was on last night on Irish TV so it might make an appearence on UK Tv.. I have it on DVD.. Love Hugh Grant so had to buy it
Just had a look on ITV listings:
Saturday 19th December at 9:00pm on ITV1
Friday 25th December at 9:00pm on ITV2
:cheer: Twice in one week.
Can you get ITV in Ireland?

Yeah.. it is one of the cable channels .. well it is UTV (Ulster) but they generally have the same programs.
I just adore this film from start to finish I feel good british movie. I love how all the stories are kinda intertwined with each others. I love it when Hugh Grant's Prime Minister stands up for his country and Kris Marshall is hilarous when he gets on da plane and says 'My names Colin and I've gota big n*b' Love it!!!! Am defo guna catch it over the xmas hols as I have the DVD:heart:
Aww I love this film, altough I havent watched it tonight but I have it on DVD so will watch it later :D

Just watched it for the second time I think now! Great movie but now it's made me a tad depressed about being single *sigh*! :)
it's an awful film, too many characters, too much going on. from a writers point of view, it's a total mess of a film! a case of too many cooks...
I'm afraid I can't stand this film either - I cringed from start to finish at all the soppiness. I even shuddered at Bill Nighy!
From a writers point of view that might be right, but from the viewers perspective it is a lovely film. It runs through the entire spectrum of emotion and the variety of stories allows them to do that.
Emma Thompson was superb, the pain was so real.

i agree it does deal with a lot of emotions but none of the stories are explored enough to do them justice, theres about 10 stories going on? how can you tell them all in the short space of time that the film lasts, theres so many loose ends and what not, there doesnt seem to be a need for so many characters and stories, it's all a bit like these randoms stories and thrown together, it's very messy and very cringe worthy.
