Seth MacFarlane is to host the 2010 Writers Guild Awards West Coast Show in Los Angeles on February 20, it has been announced.

The Writers Guild Award recognises the year's best writing in film, television, animation and video games. This year's ceremony pays special tribute to Barry Levinson and Larry David, who will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award.

"I’m honoured and humbled to be chosen as host of the WGAW awards," MacFarlane said in a release. "I look forward to catching up with my strike buddies from 2007, and making some new strike buddies for 2011."

MacFarlane is best known as the co-creator, executive producer and voice actor behind Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show, which debuted on Fox last September.
