EastEnders' Ian Beale is forced to take drastic action in a fortnight's time as he dumps Archie's laptop - evidence that proves he was in The Vic on Christmas Day, the evening Archie died...
When Peter Beale asks Tamwar to retrieve some deleted files from the laptop - which Peter presumes to be Ian's - Tamwar stumbles across Archie's audio recording of Ian's sexual encounter with Janine, which took place only weeks before.
After an argument with Jane over Syed and Christian's relationship, Zainab wander into the room and asks Tamwar what he's listening to, before demanding that he play the file. Stunned by what she's hearing, Zainab decides to take matter into her own hands and exact the perfect revenge on Jane.
With that, Zainab storms across to the Beales' and proceeds to play the sex audio to Jane, who's devastated by Ian's adultery. Ian tries to reason with Jane that his encounter with Janine was during a time when he didn't know if she'd be returning home. Jane, however, has heard enough and seeks solace in Christian, claiming that she should never have returned.
Christian manages to persuade Jane that she shouldn't throw away her marriage over something so stupid and on returning home, Jane asks Ian if he's told her everything. Realising what she means, Ian insists that he didn't kill Archie.
Later, Ian throws Archie's laptop into the canal in the hope of sinking the evidence before it sinks him.
Chances are that it'll resurface, though? No?
These scenes air on Thursday, January 14 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
There's no chance the police won't find out about the blackmail and Ian's theft of the laptop around the time Archie was killed.
Zainab makes a shock discovery

Billy looks across the Square as DCI Marsden removes the tarpaulin covering the door to The Vic, while Mo moans that the police are dragging their feet in catching Archie's killer. Billy's distinctly unimpressed by Mo's attitude but before he can say anything, he's interrupted by a phone call. Meanwhile, Janine's curious to see Marsden outside The Vic. Later, Marsden calls at Janine's flat and questions why she was out on Christmas Day, before asking Janine about Archie's missing laptop. Billy turns up to see the Mitchells and reveals that he's the executor of Archie's will, prior to revealing that everyone - including Janine - has to be at the reading.
Despite Peggy's offer to cook a family meal, Glenda out-does her as she announces that she's booked a table for them all at Fargo's. Peggy puts on a brave face but when she looks through Glenda's case, she finds something intriguing…
Meanwhile, Zainab's unhappy when Tamwar mentions Christian but her mood is lifted again when she's shown a postcard from Syed and Amira - and she later shows it to Christian out of spite. After Peter deletes a video message from Lauren off his laptop, he quickly regrets it and turns to Tamwar for help in retrieving the file. Later at the book club's anniversary meeting, Zainab turns up even though Jane didn't invite her, and Denise isn't happy that Heather's in attendance. While Denise and Heather continue sniping at each other
about baby George, Darren and Libby, Jane makes it clear to Zainab in the kitchen that she's hot happy by her attitude towards Syed being gay. When Zainab makes a dig about Jane not having children of her own, Jane flips and throws her out.
Back at home, Zainab walks in on Tamwar listening to something on the Beales' computer. Despite Tamwar's protestations that there's nothing of interest on the laptop, Zainab demands that he play the file. Zainab's gobsmacked to hear sounds of Ian and Janine in bed together.
Elsewhere, the Slaters prepare for Jean's party; Janine tells Whitney that she's used to being called a murderer; Bradley tells Stacey that he can see a small baby bump but Stacey demands that they keep the pregnancy a secret; Stacey panics when she sees DCI Marsden outside and calls Bradley; Bradley reassures Stacey that nobody knows he was in the pub on Christmas Day; Peggy and Phil prepare for Sam's court hearing; Bradley and Stacey feel the baby kick and Jean realises that Stacey's pregnant; Glenda talks to Ronnie and Roxy about her time in France; Jean tells Stacey that a baby may send her over the edge, prompting her to storm out; and Jean discovers the baby scans.

Jean confronts Stacey about the baby scans and seeing the date on them, she realises that her baby can't be Bradley's. Jean's further stunned to hear that Bradley knows that he's not the father. When questioned about the identity of the dad, Stacey insists that it was 'just a one-off'. Jean, however, is further intrigued and wants the truth, but Stacey begs her to be quiet about Bradley not being the dad. Stacey later finds her mum on Arthur's bench and thanks her for not revealing her secret. With that, Jean admits that Stacey will be a brilliant mum.
Later, Stacey informs Bradley that Jean knows their secret. Max overhears and asks what they're talking about and Mo jokingly suggests that Bradley killed Archie. Panicking, Bradley admits to Max that he's done something terrible…
Meanwhile, an upset Jane tells Ian about Zainab's spiteful comment and when Ian begins to head out the door, Jane stops him. Having decided to have a night in, Jane and Ian settle down just as Zainab walks into their living room holding Ian's laptop. Ian looks on in horror as Zainab explains to Jane that her husband's playing sick games behind her back. Ian tries to shut the laptop but Jane stops him and plays back the file. Mortified, Ian tries to explain that it all happened when he didn't think she was returning. Devastated by Ian's betrayal, Jane walks out claiming that she should never have returned.
Turning to Christian, Jane confides in her brother about Ian's infidelity but Christian suggests that she should think twice before letting what she has slip away. Jane reluctantly returns to the Beales', where Ian reveals all about Janine and Achie's blackmailing - and that he broke into The Vic on Christmas Day to delete the file. Ian then begs Jane not to leave him as he's scared that the police are onto him…
Elsewhere, Zainab refuses to ask Christian for help with catering a function; Peggy tells Phil that she thinks Glenda's up to something; Janine, Ryan, Whitney and Todd have a meal at the Argee Bargee; when Glenda's credit card is declined in Fargo's, Peggy accuses her of being a fraud because of the designer clothes with labels that she found in her suitcase; Tamwar accuses Zainab of being homophobic, before suggesting that she showed Jane the audio file of Ian and Janine because of what happened at the book club; Janine receives a call from Billy inviting her to Archie's will reading; and Peggy called the Mitchells' family lawyer Ritchie Scott to do some digging on Glenda as she worries that she could still be in Archie's will.

Peggy's furious to discover that Glenda could contest Archie's will and sensing his mother's anger, Phil suggests that she be wary of Glenda. While talking to her mother, Roxy ponders that Ronnie will inherit everything and at that moment, Ronnie reveals that she won't be attending the will reading. Glenda, however, insists that she must attend in order to gain some closure on Archie's death. Ronnie's puzzled by her mother's comments and Glenda insists that she'll explain all after the reading. As the Mitchells prepare to head across the road to The Vic, Phil's taken aback when Peggy admits that she did love Archie, despite all his wrongdoings.
Billy meets Archie's solicitor Emma West outside the pub where she drops all of her paperwork and it starts flying around the Square. Inside, the Mitchells gather for the will reading and while Roxy silently questions Ronnie's change of heart, Peggy ponders Glenda's motives. An expectant Janine arrives but receives the cold shoulder from most of those in attendance. With everyone gathered, Billy begins reading Archie's last will and testament: Phil receives his father Eric's boxing trophy, £100,000 is held in trust for baby Amy and Ronnie's 'first surviving child' and Peggy is left a wedding photo. As Billy goes to read the last page, he notices that it's missing. While Ronnie's reeling from her father's spite beyond the grave, Emma and Phil track down the missing sheet.
Finally found, Billy goes on to finish the reading. Roxy and Ronnie receive an antique fountain pen and signet ring respectively, and the remainder of Archie's estate is bequeathed to…
Elsewhere, Ricky and Bianca begin to make preparations for their wedding; Jane asks Ian if he's told her everything about Christmas Day, essentially asking if he killed Archie; Bradley tells Charlie that he'll stand by Stacey and the baby; Ian throws the laptop into the canal; Bianca reluctantly adds her mother Carol's name to the wedding guest list; Janine's intrigued to hear Jane snap Peter for asking about the Beales' laptop; Mo decides to run a book on 'Who Killed Archie?'; Ian prepares a romantic meal for Jane; Bradley and Max unwittingly go for an interview at the same supermarket; and Bianca removes Carol's name from the guest list when Ricky leaves the room.
The new owner of The Vic is revealed
Airs on Friday, January 15 2010 at 20:00 GMT on BBC One
As Billy goes to read the final part of Archie's will, Peggy's mobile rings. After she hangs up, Peggy announces that Glenda and Archie are divorced, despite not having signed any paperwork. Glenda's seemingly shocked by the revelation but Archie's solicitor Emma explains that Archie wouldn't have needed her signature if she'd been untraceable for two or more years. Billy finally reads the last part of Archie's will and stuns everyone when he reveals who has been bequeathed The Vic and the rest of his estate…
Meanwhile, the atmosphere's tense at the Beales' and Jane informs Ian that she'll never forget what's happened. Ian, however, suggests that they start afresh and shows Jane an adoption magazine. Jane's mood, though, isn't lifted by his idea. Despite Jane's protestation that it's too soon to adopt after what's happened, Ian announces that a social worker is visiting next week. While Ian's confirming everything on the phone with Social Services, Janine wanders in and asks about Ian's new laptop. Furious by Janine's presence, Jane threatens to call the police but Janine's clear - she wants £10,000 to keep quiet about what happened to Archie's laptop.
Elsewhere, Bradley asks Max why he's at the supermarket but Max lies that Stacey told him where he was going so he could offer his support. Bradley, however, insists that Stacey didn't know he was attending a job interview at a supermarket. Bradley then realises that Max is looking for work, too. After discussing a few alternatives, Bradley suggests that they start a business together. As father and son toast their new venture, Stacey walks in, seemingly uncomfortable by their deal. Outside, Stacey informs Bradley that she saw Janine in the gutter - as that's what happens when you cross the Mitchells.
Stacey then asks what's really on Bradley's mind - why did he lie about sleeping with her behind Syd's back? Bradley explains that it was for her own protection - and so that the conception dates for her baby add up for it to be his. With that, Bradley also assures Stacey that he didn't kill Archie…

Having received a token gesture of a gift in Archie's will, Janine's seething and begins blackmailing Ian to buy her silence over Archie's stolen laptop.
Putting the disappearance of Archie's computer together with an argument she overheard between Jane and Peter about Ian's missing laptop, Janine realises that the Walford entrepreneur was at The Vic on Christmas Day.
While Ian's confirming an adoption meeting with Social Services, Janine wanders into the Beales' and begins questioning Ian about the laptop.
Jane's furious by Janine's appearance and threatens to call the police but Janine makes her intentions clear - hand over £10,000 or she'll tell the police about what happened to Archie's laptop.
Little Madam, is Janine
