Why not Claire or Gail?

Probably a chance conversation in the factory rather than a choice made by Sally to confide in Carla

Sally confides in Carla

Why not Claire or Gail?

Maybe it's easier for Sally to tell Carla than it is Claire or Gail. Also with Carla being her employer she has to tell her that she maybe off work while she gets treatment.

Peter's still not happy about Ken's petition

Airs on Monday, January 4 2010 at 19:30 GMT on ITV1

Kevin's still struggling to come to terms with Sally's illness, while Sally is putting on a brave face, insisting that she'll go undertake with whatever treatment the specialist recommends.

Gail, meanwhile, is busy preparing for the wedding and even the news that Sarah can't make it due to illness doesn't dampen her spirits. Gail's made up when Audrey offers to send her and Joe on honeymoon and even begins suggesting potential hairstyles for the big day.

Joe's also looking forward to the ceremony but is perturbed when Rick the debt collector calls him. With the house sold, Joe's confident that he'll be able to settle what he owes. However, when Gail reveals that the house sale has fallen through, he despairs.

With that, a furious Rick makes it very clear that he'll stop at nothing to ensure Joe pays up.

Relations are still strained at The Rovers and Liz is worried that Becky and Steve's constant sniping is beginning to affect Amy. Later, Becky pours her heart out to Roy and Hayley, insisting that she'll never change her mind about having children, no matter how much Steve pleads with her.

Elsewhere, Molly's pleased when Tyrone informs her that he's been invited for an interview at a garage in Chester. Molly thinks that it's a fantastic opportunity but Tyrone - completely oblivious to Molly's positive reaction - isn't convinced.

Also, Peter's still angry over Ken's petition plans but relents and invites him to collect Simon from school. Ken's not best pleased though, when George also turns up.

Peter attempts to maintain the peace by insisting that Simon can have tea at the Barlows'. Peter heads to the pub with George but is surprised by the proposition that George puts to him.

When Joe realises that Tina's on her own in the flat with Rick, he begins panics - has Joe put his own daughter at risk?

Liz is becoming increasingly fed up with Steve and Becky as they've left her looking after both Amy and the pub yet again. Liz eventually manages track down Becky, who agrees to return home. However, when an inebriated Steve rolls in, Becky tells him to find somewhere else to sleep.

Elsewhere, Dev returns to Sunita's with the twins after a great day out and insists that he's committed to being a good father and is no longer seeing Bernie. The news, however, disappoints Matt as he'd rather that Dev was in a relationship.

Nick arrives for his mother's wedding to Joe wedding and Gail gives him a hero's welcome. Joe, meanwhile, is a man on a mission to obtain Rick's money. In a desperate bid to scrape the cash together, Joe asks Peter for an advance on the work he'll be completing at the bar.

When Peter turns him down, Joe resorts to asking Ted for £4,000 so he can 'put a deposit on a flat for him and Gail'. Ted's taken in by Joe's lie and gladly hands over the cash. Joe later meets Rick and gives him the money - but will it be enough to appease him for the day?

Meanwhile, Ken and Peter are still trying to be civil and agree that Simon go to the Barlows' for tea later in the day. George turns up and asks Peter again about letting him pay for Simon to go to private school. Peter agrees to consider it but isn't aware that Simon's overheard the exchange. Later at the Barlows' Simon tells Ken about George's offer, prompting a furious Ken to go and have it out with George!

Tyrone's anxious as he waits to see if he's bagged the job at the garage in Chester - even though he's not entirely convinced that he'll even take it if he's successful. When he finally receives the call, he's not sure what to do. Molly suggests that they talk it over with Jack.

Elsewhere, Liz wants to know who'll be looking after the bar that evening - a question that leads to another row between Becky and Steve. Becky's determined to make Steve see sense but she's torn between making her point and her love for Amy.
