EastEnders actress Kacey Ainsworth won't be appearing in Desperate Housewives after all, according to The Mirror today.

Ainsworth's EastEnders co-star Shane Richie (Alfie Moon) revealed that she would be joining the hit US show as a British nanny, at the British Soap Awards last weekend.

However, Kacey's agent has now denied the rumours.

"Kacey categorically hasn't ever been approached by Desperate Housewives," Kacey's agent told the newspaper.

Kacey Ainsworth has signed a new, one-year deal to stay on at EastEnders, according to a report in The Mirror today.

The actress, 34, had been tipped for a move Stateside to play the part of a nanny in Desperate Housewives.

"It's been gloomy in Albert Square lately with big names leaving," a source told the newspaper. "But everyone is just overjoyed Kacey is staying. Viewers really love Little Mo."

From: Digital Spy.

I hope I've put this in the right forum, I was not sure if it should go in spoilers or general.

What do people think? Personally I still like Mo but she needs to stop acting like a retarded 5 year old, lose the annoying voice and stop being so wet and drippy. She would be a much better character being back with Billy and having storylines involving Freddie.

Angeltigger

Thanks Florijo, I am glad that Little Mo is staying- Of course she is going to sound like a retarded 5 year old it, she can not lose the annoying Voice as it is stuck in Kacey Ainsworth mouth, but are you trying to say that she should have lessons to learn how to make what she is say sound clearer but when you are screaming and crying people NEVER hear you as you are crying, Which mean she is so wet and drippy. Who knows she might have a storyline that will be Billy and Freddie but than Billy could not appect freddie as his until it was too late.

Florijo
14-10-2005, 10:42
Well Kacey has quite a nice voice when she is being herself, she sounds much nicer when she is not being Little Mo. There is a video of Kacey being interviewed on the BBC website somewhere and she sounds so much better. I believe she based Little Mo's voice on her aunt. It just annoys me the way she says "Billaay", "Freddaay".

I love Little Mo's character, obviously! I think Kacey is an amazing actress, and has been involved in some really gripping storylines. I definetely want Little Mo and Billy to get back together, because even after everything that has happened they still seem to make so much sense. They are really alike and know each better than I think any other couple in the square.

I am so glad that Kacey's staying, she's great!

if mo loved billy she'd have gone back to him rather than alfie, she knows however much he tries, he'll always resent freddie, and therefore she will never get abck with him, the alfie buisness has made her a stonger character, more brave, hey would the old little mo have dated her sisters boyfriend? no! shes now independant and would wear the shoes in any relationship, i think she can now do better than Billy and will love to see who shes paired with next...maybe a "real" mitchell?

I don't think her relationship with Alfie has made her stronger, if anything I think it has knocked her confidence even more. She thought he loved her, and that they'd made a proper commitment, and now she's found out he is still in love with her sister. He betrayed the trust that she had in him. Almost immediately after Alfie split up with her he had sex with Kat. So pretty much everything he has told her has been a lie. No doubt he cared for her, but he let her think that it was more than what it was. I'm sure she'll get over it, but it hasn't been a great experience, the way that it's turned out.

I would love for her and Billy to get back together, it seems impossible at the moment but I hope in the future Mo will fall in love with him again. It can't be forced, it has to be something they both want.

Haven't seen this anywhere else, but sorry if it's been posted.

Was reading The Sun's article for last night's NTAs here (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005490572,00.html) and it said this:

Little Mo is ready to go

KACEY Ainsworth, who plays Little Mo in EastEnders, sensationally revealed she is quitting the soap.

The actress, 35, told BBC bosses she wanted to end her five-year stint before fans tired of her.

Kacey took a break last year to give birth to daughter Blossom — and she is tipped to play a nanny in US show Desperate Housewives.

An insider last night said: “Kacey’s contract finishes in March and she intends to leave.”

I thought she'd just signed a new contract - or was that just a rumour? :searchme: And wasn't the Desperate Housewives rumour denied by the producers of that show? *is confused*

Kim
26-10-2005, 10:26
Maybe she signed a 6 month contract then because I thought the desperate housewives rumour was denied and that she signed a new contract at eastenders

Florijo
26-10-2005, 11:52
There was a report in The Mirror saying she had signed a new contract, and now this report in The Sun saying she is quitting. Which paper would be more reliable when it comes to stuff on EastEnders? Neither reports are confirmations though, just newspapers reporting what a source told them. The only way we will know the truth is when Kacey herself says she is leaving/staying or when/if we here something from the BBC. Anything other than that is just rumor.

EXCLUSIVE: KACEY TO STAY AS LITTLE MO
Exclusive By Fiona Cummins
EASTENDER Kacey Ainsworth has signed a £150,000 one-year deal with the soap.

BBC bosses are thrilled they have persuaded Kacey, 34, to carry on as Little Mo.

One show insider revealed: "It's been gloomy in Albert Square lately with big names leaving.

"But everyone is just overjoyed Kacey is staying. Viewers really love Little Mo."

Kacey, who took a break last year after giving birth to daughter Blossom, had been tipped to play a nanny in US series Desperate Housewives.

Nigel Harman (Dennis Rickman), Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie (Kat and Alfie Moon) will all leave Albert Square soon.

A show insider is not confirmation. Confirmation will only come from the BBC.

Yes from the article it does seem like Kacey has announced it. But what I find strange is that Tina Baker didn't mention it on GMTV this morning. She said that she'd be revealing all in tomorrows episode. But to make sure the viewers watched it, she told us about Sonia being involved in a lesbian storyline, don't you think Kacey quitting would have raised a few eyebrows?! and have been more important than that?

Unless I missed something, and Kacey's departure was talked about in any of the morning shows today. Because I didn't see it all.

I must admit, I'm getting a bit fed up with all the people leaving though -- it seems there'll be hardly anyone left. :( I know they've got lots of new characters coming in, but honestly out of the ones we've got so far Dawn is the only one I think that could carry a big storyline. They've not got much time to get the leaving storylines sorted out and to build up the new characters enough so that there isn't a huge vacuum.

I agree, however alot of the new actors coming in (Phil Daniels and David Essex) are proven excellent actors. It remains to be seen whether the scrip-writers do them justice by writing good storylines and scripts. We wait and see

Previously I have thought that Mo should stay, but I've changed my mind.

The reason I say this is because the writers have made a complete mess of Mo as a character. I loved her as the abused wife, meek, mild and scared. She was mentally and physically abused, as well as being raped by Trevor. Then she stood up to him. She became stronger. Then she was raped by Graham. She became a victim again, and the meek, mild Mo was back. Then she got with Alfie, and all character development went out the window. She annoys me no end now, and I don't think I will ever like her again.

Kacey is a good actress but the only times I have seen her really shine were her scenes with Alex (Trevor). They were amazing.

I wonder how she will leave?

Kim

Florijo
27-10-2005, 17:09
I'm worried about what will happen with Stacey. Lacey is a gem and is a real asset to the show. With Lynne, Zoe, Kat and now Mo going, what will happen with Stacey? She has got Charlie and Big Mo, but they have no real storylines anymore. I reckon they should get rid of Charlie and Big Mo and then move Stacey and Ruby (if she is staying) into a flat together. Charlie and Big Mo are boring and will just drag the wonderful Stacey (and Lacey) down.

BlackKat
27-10-2005, 17:15
I think they'll either have a rather decreased Slater family - Mo, Charlie, Stacey and Ruby as an honourary member. Or Mo and Charlie will be off, and Ruby and Stacey will be flatmates.

I'd actually quite like to see how Mo and Charlie would cope with living with two teenage girls, and no people like Kat and Little Mo to step in on their behalf. Plus with Charlie always saying he's let his girls down, and it's his fault they've turned out the way they have, it would be quite nice for him to get a second chance at being a better "father" to Stacey and Ruby.

I think it was obvious she was gonna leave soon enough, she is very talented and has used EE as a stepping stone, she will go far good luck to her, she must get a bit sick and tired playing a character who is always crying and never having any luck in life! I think its about time she moved on, gonna miss her loads though, she brought some fab storylines to life and she wont be forgotton for the whole "domestic violence" storyline!

I'm very sad that Kacey Ainsworth is going, she's a brilliant actress, and her character of Little Mo is endearing. I was hoping Little Mo and Billy would get back together, they're great. It's such a shame that they won't have a happy ending. As far as I know Perry Fenwick is very happy in Eastenders, so I can't see him leaving anytime soon.

I bet Billy will be heartbroken when she leaves. I wonder how they will write her out. I hope it's a happy ending. If she can't be with Billy, then it would be nice for her to meet another special man. I can't really think of anybody, maybe a new character.

Florijo
27-10-2005, 20:33
Hmm, I wonder how they will write her out. Mo is not the type to just disappear somewhere, like Kat, so maybe they might decide to kill her off. She might meet a new man, but she just does not seem the type to just leave like that, especially as she would know how Charlie would feel about it, and especially just for a man.

littlemo

True, if she left with a man, Charlie may think the guy was trying to control her like Trevor did. I don't think the family would let that happen again. And I also think Little Mo has grown a bit more streetwise, since all the events that have happened to her. People can look nice from the outside but things can go wrong. And she won't have her family to turn to, if she's away from Walford. As well as that, she loves Freddie more than anything in the world, and she'll want to make sure that the man she's with cares about him too.

I don't think they'd kill Little Mo off, it would be too tragic. It would leave Freddie without a mum. Who would look after him? I suppose Charlie would step up, but he's quite old, it's a big responsibility. Freddie's god parents are Zoe and Alfie, it would be a bit awkward to leave him with either of them. I think if Alfie was with they would be the best to raise him. Although they would be taking him away from Walford.

When i heard this, i was kind of indifferent - i dont care enough about the character to be happy or sad that she is leaving

good luck to kacey though - shes very talented and im sure she will do well

I read in a few magazines, Tv Quick etc., that Little Mo is going to go and visit Lynne, after she tells Billy to make Honey his priority. Does anybody know how long she is going for? Also is it definite Kacey Ainsworth is leaving in March?

It looks like Billy's got his work cut out. He's been on his own for so long, and now Little Mo wants him back and Honey is pregnant with his child. How complicated is that? It should be a good storyline.

P.S. I saw a picture of Freddie in the magazine and he looks so cute. Lovely blond hair.

Awww, poor Mo, nobody likes her anymore. :crying: :(

I can understand why though, watching her on UK Gold, she is a much better character compared to now. She should have died with Trevor. Damn Tom Banks for saving her.

yeh they ruined poor mo when they gave her a second rape storyline, a pregnancy because of this and probably the main atrocity, the one that was MOLIFE! Arrrggghhh!

Except get back with Billy. We haven't really been given the chance to get used to Billy and Honey together yet have we?! But with Honey having the baby, there doesn't seem to be any chance of them splitting up any time soon. I did like Billy and Little Mo's relationship, it's a shame they had to break up. But I don't think he will ever completely get over her, so there's always a chance.

I read in one of my mags (TV Quick possibly) that Little Mo has always given up what she wants for every one else and that when she returns from Lynnes we may be seeing a whole new tougher, if I want something, I am going to go for it kind of person!!

Yes, I did hear that Mo is going to be very angry when she finds out about Honey being pregnant. She can't really say anything because she told him to get on with his life, and make a go of things with Honey, but I can see how she'd be upset. I feel sorry for her. But Freddie's gorgeous.

The thing I've found with little mo too is that she was more than happy to be with Alfie in front of Billy and even ask him to keep it secret for her, but as soon as he finds happiness with someone, she then decides that she does care for him afterall. It wasn't so long back that she had decided she loved Alfie. I feel for her in one way, but the majority of me thinks that she needs to let Billy get on with things.

It wasn't so long back that she had decided she loved Alfie. I feel for her in one way, but the majority of me thinks that she needs to let Billy get on with things.

The thing is though, it wasn't her relationship with Alfie that broke up their relationship, it was everything that happened with Graham and Billy's feelings towards Freddie. They've both come through an ordeal, and if for some stroke of luck they are still in love with each other and are able to put the past on the backburner and make their relationship work, I feel they should do that. But clearly the writers are making Billy move on, and if Honey is going to have his baby then they can't have him leave her for Little Mo. As Little Mo said at the trial, Billy would never leave a baby that was his. He wants to be a dad, and I've heard he's chuffed to bits about the news Honey's pregnant.

It seems that Honey is going to be a longterm character, and Billy is going to make a go of things with her. But it's a shame things can't go back to way things were with Billy and Little Mo.

Like you say, they've been through so much - I think they both do obviously care about each other, but too much water has gone under the bridge really

I think Kacey Ainsworth is a brilliant actress, if she is hoping to pursue her acting career, I don't think it will be too difficult for her to get work. I've really liked Little Mo, it's a shame she's leaving.

Kacey Ainsworth has announced that she would be willing to return to EastEnders if she was ever offered the chance.

In an interview with Reveal magazine, the actress confirmed that she has fond memories of her time playing Little Mo Mitchell on the Walford soap.

Ainsworth commented: "EastEnders was a great place to work and I made some close friends during my six years there.

"If a storyline was there for me then of course I'd feel drawn to go back."

The 39-year-old, who starred on the programme from 2000 to 2006, has previously said that she is proud to have played the popular character.

Speaking last month, she explained: "I always had nice feedback from it, so as an actor you have to say if you have one character in your whole career that sticks in people's minds, you've done an amazing job."

I wouldn't want her to come back. I found her very boring the last couple of years she was in EE and was glad when she left.

She was a great character in her early days but a terrible one towards the end, though that was EastEnders fault and NOT hers, as theres certainly no problems with her acting. I wouldn't mind seeing her back if they could turn her character around again.

Yeah she was a brilliant character. Whether Billy and Little Mo could get back together I don't know. They have been through a lot. But then the writers could make anything happen.
