Monday
Ravi's insistent that Anita goes go to the police and report Dave for spiking her drink. Her reluctance only serves to infuriate her brother and he refuses to let Dave get away with what he's done. At halls, Dave's trying his best to remain cool and calm but it's clear that his friends have their doubts over his innocence, especially his best mate Josh.
In an attempt to clear the awkward atmosphere, Dave, Josh, India and Charlotte head the SU Bar but the arrival of two police officers quickly puts an end to Dave's fun. Anita's horrified to see Dave being hauled into a police car, especially when she hears that it's for assaulting Ravi. It all kicks off again back at the Roys' until they're interrupted by a knock on the door.
As Dave barges in, a furious Ravi's had enough and grabs the phone to call the police. Backed into a corner, Anita's forced to reveal the truth and admit that Dave never spiked her - she took the drugs herself.
Meanwhile, when Charlotte notices Zoe and Lydia together, her concern for Zoe grows. She takes Zoe to one side and warns her to be careful around Lydia. Zoe's confused by Charlotte's concern but desperate to prove the truth behind Sarah's death, she tells Charlotte that she's fine. Unseen by them, though, Lydia watches them talking and becomes paranoid that Charlotte will betray her. With that, Lydia follows Charlotte back to Halls and threatens to kill herself if the truth ever comes out.
When Zoe returns to the flat, she finds Lydia packing - she's decided to go back home for Christmas as things are becoming too difficult to deal with. In attempt to keep her on side, Zoe admits that she's feeling exactly the same. The pair then have a heart-to-heart about Sarah. Zoe tells Lydia that she and Mike need her support and with that, Lydia's persuaded to stay in Hollyoaks for Christmas.
Elsewhere, the attraction between Calvin and Mercedes intensifies when they're left alone together in The Loft. Mercedes and Sasha argue about what The Loft should do to win more customers than The Dog at Christmas and they finally decide to hold a sexy Santa and Santess competition, an idea that wins everyone's vote. As Mercedes and Calvin decorate The Loft, they soon find themselves underneath a stem of mistletoe. Unaware that Spencer's in the room, Mercedes leans in for a kiss.
Later, Spencer tries the mistletoe trick he witnessed on Sasha but it doesn't go as well as he'd hoped for. A miserable Spencer explains to Malachy that Mercedes didn't push Calvin away when they were under the mistletoe together but oblivious to their attraction, Malachy laughs it off.
Tuesday
Despite Anita admitting that she lied about her drink being spiked, Dave feels that the damage has been done. Josh tries to make amends with him but he's not interested and prepares to head home for Christmas. Anita, meanwhile, tries her best to make it up to Leila and Ravi but is struggling. Not sure what else she can do, Anita tells her family that she's considering moving to Middlesbrough and asks what they think. Leila and Ravi, however, are fed up with playing parent to Anita and their reaction to her leaving isn't what she'd hoped for.
While out alone, Anita sees Dave waiting at the bus stop and decides to head over to apologise. She's the last person he wants to see, though, and he tells her just how much damage her stupidity has caused. Anita's shocked by Dave's bitterness but the reality of what she's done hits home and she heads off, alone and isolated once again.
Meanwhile, as Mercedes and Malachy continue to argue over where to spend Christmas, Calvin interrupts with a bigger problem - The Dog has stolen their idea and the Ashworths holding their own sexy Santa contest. They head round to the pub ready for a fight but the lads are soon distracted by scantily-clad Santess Cheryl, parading herself around the bar. Malachy suggests that Mercedes enters the competition herself to promote The Loft and get one over on Cheryl.
Oblivious to their attraction, he also pushes Calvin into entering with her. Wanting to please his wife, Malachy decides to give in to spending Christmas at the McQueens'. With his attraction growing, Calvin can only watch on with jealousy as Mercedes and Malachy share a loving kiss.
Things are looking up for Loretta - she's finally ready to leave her grotty B&B and her dance class is going well. While finishing up for the day at the Council Hall, Loretta's startled when someone creeps up on her. Horrified to see that it's her old friend Chrissy, Loretta becomes frantic. Things go from bad to worse when Steph arrives to tell Loretta that she can't afford to keep her class running.
Unable to believe how her day has turned out, a furious Loretta practically drags Chrissy out of the Council Hall, insisting she shouldn't have come. Chrissy keeps calling Loretta 'Joanna', which only darkens her mood further - we see a side to Loretta that we've never seen before.
Later in the village, Loretta's on her way back to the B&B when Chrissy appears again. Calm but menacing, Loretta tells her old friend to never contact her again. Who or what is Loretta? And what is she hiding?
Elsewhere, Nancy mentions to Kris that having a lodger would be the ideal solution as they could do with the spare cash - she's been invited to Canada for Christmas, so having someone to share the bills with would really help. Kris immediately assumes that Nancy is hinting at him moving in and runs to Ravi for advice.
On their way to The Dog, Kris finally plucks up the courage to tell Nancy that he doesn't want to live with her. Kris, however, is confused when Nancy agrees that living together would be a nightmare. The pair realise there's been a misunderstanding and with his panic over, Kris suggestively hints that they head back to the empty flat.
Wednesday
Loretta's anxious when Chrissy turns up again and begins asking questions about her new life. She's further concerned when Steph sees them together - the previous day, Loretta pretended that she didn't know her. With that, Loretta is forced confess that Chrissy's an old friend from school. When Steph leaves, Loretta insists that Chrissy does the same as she can't risk anyone seeing them together and discovering her past. When Chrissy reveals that she's lost her baby and is desperate for someone to talk to, Loretta can't push her away.
Steph can tell that Jake still likes Loretta and encourages him to get in touch but when Jake claims that there's no point, Steph decides to take matters into her own hands and calls Loretta herself. Worried that Steph might be onto her, Loretta turns nasty with Chrissy when Loretta insists that she isn't part of her life anymore, before requesting that she leave.
Loretta's shaken after her run in with Chrissy and soon realises that Steph has set her up to meet Jake when she turns up at the flat. Jake's secretly glad by her appearance and they can't help being amused by Steph's obvious attempts at matchmaking. But Loretta's past soon returns to haunt her, though, and her horrific secret is revealed - Chrissy blurts out that she and Lorretta killed a child when they were younger.
Meanwhile, Rae bunks off school and lands a job in Relish. Ste initially insists that there aren't any jobs but she quickly manages to work her way in when she realises that he's short-staffed. With that, she offers to wash the dishes. At first, Ste's annoyed but is amused by Rae's attitude Rae soon has a permanent job. Gaz isn't happy that Rae's going for a job in Relish with Ste working there and he can't stop thinking about her at school.
Gaz is chuffed when he gets good marks in his English essay, although Lauren's not happy to be overshadowed by him and puts him in his place. Des pulls Lauren up on her behaviour and tells her that if she give Gaz a chance, she might actually realise that they actually get on. Lauren decides to make an effort with Gaz and although it's initially slightly awkward, it looks like they might have something in common after all.
Elsewhere, Ricky still can't get his head round why Anita lied about being spiked and although Duncan warns him that she's bad news, he's worried. Duncan tries to cheer Ricky up when he sees a flyer for Christmas celebrations in The Loft and insists that there'll be wall-to-wall totty to take his mind off Anita. Ricky's unsure but Duncan manages to persuade him that it's a good idea and comes up with a bogus raffle to help fund their entry fee.
Ricky's increasingly uncomfortable as the boys flog tickets, while Tony's suspicious of their charities. When they shame him into handing over his cash, Tony goes all out to help them raise money and hands them a Father Christmas and an Elf outfit. The boys are humiliated as they sell their tickets in the village wearing their outfits, but realise it's worth it when the money begins mounting up.
Thursday
Steph's perturbed when she realises that she's over-subscribed for her junior ballet. However, after listening to Jake and Frankie singing Loretta's praises, she decides to offer her a class. Unfortunately, Steph realises that Loretta's not as keen on taking the junior classes as she thought she'd be and is surprised when she turns her offer down. Loretta's also reluctant to commit to a drink when Steph mentions going for one with her and Chrissy. Discovering that Tom's unwell, a stressed Steph is grateful when Loretta offers to collect him from after school club.
Arriving home, Tom milks his illness for all he's worth and Loretta lets him get away with it. Later, Jake pops in from a shopping trip, Loretta's overwhelmed when he hands her a locket, before confessing his love for her. As the rest of the Osbornes return home, Loretta finds herself welcomed into the heart of the family and a rosy future lies ahead…
Meanwhile, Ricky and Duncan are full of Christmas cheer and are determined to con the locals in their fake Harrods hamper raffle. Ricky feels guilty but Duncan assures him when he even manages to sweet-talk Myra into buying a couple of strips.
The boys', however, mood is soon dampened when Cheryl suggests that they hold the draw in The Dog. Duncan's convinced that his plan of only putting pink tickets in the draw will be their salvation but Des is on to them. He forces the lads to add the blue tickets, which leads to one winner being drawn - a thrilled Myra! Realising that something's amiss, Myra heads after Duncan and Ricky. Will they escape her wrath!
Theresa's feeling low and suffering with a headache when Myra arrives home. A loved-up Jacqui and Des, meanwhile, do nothing to improve her mood - that is until Jacqui hands her a letter from her mum, Kathleen, announcing that she'll be arriving for Christmas. Theresa's headache miraculously disappears as she giddily heads out to plan her outfit.
Theresa asks Lauren to go shopping with her, but Gaz's arrival puts paid to her suggestion. Unaware of the blossoming friendship, Theresa sends Gaz packing, before leaving a lonely Lauren to her own devices. A chance meeting with Gaz makes Lauren think that they have more in common than she initially thought.
Also, Rae turns up for her new job in Relish but is furious to discover that Newt works there, too. Ste insists that Newt has to show her the ropes and a frosty Rae realises she has no option but to agree.
Gaz turns up and asks for a normal burger and when Newt's distracted, Rae seizes the opportunity to add a few chillis to his order. As he gasps with the heat, Newt knows exactly what Rae's done.
Feigning ignorance, Rae basks with delight when Newt's forced to take the blame. Maintaining his innocence, Newt's relieved to find that he's on his side. However, he poses the warning that his relationship with Rae must improve or one of them will have to go.
