I posted this here because it concerns all soaps, hope it is ok.

From Digital Spy

Here goes for another year of festive scheduling fun in soapland. Just like last December, this page will be updated as soon as new scheduling information becomes available.

Until you see the words 'all schedules are now final' at the end of the 'updates' section, they're not confirmed.

All clashes are highlighted in RED (there are none), while any episodes which are not of their usual length are highlighted in bold font (Only on Christmas Day).

Five's Aussie soaps have a different hiatus pattern this year. Neighbours final episode of 2008 goes to air on Friday, December 11, while Home and Away commences its three-week break on Friday, December 18.

Neighbours will return to the schedules on Monday, January 4, while Home and Away makes its comeback a week later on Monday, January 11.

BBC daytime soap Doctors, meanwhile, breaks for Christmas on Friday, December 18 and returns on Monday, January 4.

Looks like it's just the ITV schedule that has been released so far as Casualty and the BBC specials haven't been included either.

David Tennant's final two episodes of Doctor Who will air on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, the BBC has confirmed.

Provisional schedules for the Christmas period will see 'The End Of Time, Part One' air from 7.30pm to 8.30pm on BBC One on Christmas Day, sandwiched between episodes of EastEnders.

'The End Of Time, Part Two', in which Tennant's Doctor will regenerate into a new incarnation played by Matt Smith, will air on New Year's Day. The hour-long episode will go out at 7.30pm, again sandwiched between episodes of EastEnders and also ahead of the last ever episode of Gavin & Stacey.

ITV1 has unveiled its 2009 Christmas lineup, which includes footage from Take That's recent tour and an Ant and Dec Christmas special.

The Ant and Dec special will see the Geordie presenters host a show featuring sketches, performances and surprise guests - filmed in front of a live studio audience.

In drama, Julia McKenzie returns as Marple, Poirot is back and John Hurt returns to the role of Quentin Crisp in An Englishman In New York, a follow-on from The Naked Civil Servant.

Piers Morgan's Review Of The Year will see the Britain's Got Talent judge reflect on 2009, while Harry Hill offers an alternative perspective in TV Burp Review Of The Year.

Additionally, ITV1 will broadcast Take That: The Circus Live, which includes footage from their Wembley performance earlier this year.

Peter Fincham said of the schedule: "ITV1 has had a phenomenal Autumn, with our biggest hits such as The X Factor, I'm A Celebrity..., Harry Hill’s TV Burp and Doc Martin attracting bigger audiences than ever.

"Our Christmas schedule has the same wide appeal, with big entertainment and factual specials, some much anticipated new drama and comedy one-offs - alongside all that you’d expect from ITV1 in soaps and films over the festive period."

Other highlights include A Night Of Heroes, Far From Home and Xtra Factor - The Winner's Story, which will transmit on ITV2.
