Jack Tweed has been ordered to stand trial for the alleged rape of a teenage girl at his East London home.

The 22-year-old widower of reality TV star Jade Goody is accused of meeting the 19-year-old at a nightclub in the West End before taking her back to his home in Brandesbury Square, Repton Park, Woodford Green.

Club promoter Tweed was not present when his case was mentioned at Snaresbrook Crown Court, PA reports.

He has already indicated through his lawyers that he will deny the charge when his plea and directions are heard on December 22. As Tweed is currently in custody, he will appear via a video link.

Judge David Radford provisionally fixed the date of a two-week trial for April 12.

Tweed will be arraigned with co-defendant Anthony Davis of Stradbroke Drive, Chigwell, Essex.

The 25-year-old estate agent has also been accused of raping the teenager and will remain on bail until the trial date.

It is hard to feel sorry for this guy. Yes, his wife died tragically young, but he is still a thug, and now this.

Lock him up for longer this time.

No doubt he will play the sympathy card that he lost his wife Jade and this is why he is getting into so much trouble. Reality is he is a thug and if Jade was still alive today Jack would still be in jail. Maybe not for Rape but some other crime. He promised Jade that he would change his ways and be a role model for her two sons. He has not done one thing to prove that he could honor his promise to Jade. Hopefully this time they will lock him up and throw away the key.
