ITV1 Network Wednesday 22 June 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The rebellious threat of strike action by the relief, led by Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) over the suspension of PC Yvonne Hemingway (Michele Austin) and reprimand handed out to PC Roger Valentine, (John Bowler) is short lived. As Superintendent Adam Okaro (Cyril Nri) blasts them over their lack of professionalism, he reminds them that they are police officers with a duty to the public. He tells them that as long as they use their protective equipment properly, they have his total backing.
Adam meets with Yvonne, who has been suspended after accidentally killing a suspect with her asp. He says she is allowed to return to the station on non-operative duties while the enquiry continues. Will Yvonne accept the offer?
PC Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) panics over the mysterious note he received alleging that someone knows of his affair with Rochelle Barratt (Anna Acton). To Dan’s dismay, Rochelle suggests they cool things for a while. Could this be the end of their illicit liaisons?
Elsewhere, DC Suzie Sim (Wendy Kweh) and DC Gary Best (Ciaran Griffiths) are assigned to investigate a series of burglaries but the tension is rife as Gary feels he is being patronised and used by the ambitious Suzie. Is he right?
Meanwhile, DS Phil (Scott Maslen) and brother PC Steve Hunter (James Lloyd), clash over Phil’s treatment of Kate and other women in the past. Steve is also still very angry over his older brothers’ desertion from the family, fearing for Phil’s unborn child and that he’ll make the same mistakes again. There’s more trouble ahead as the fists fly between the squabbling siblings in front of an astonished DS Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell).
Also, DI Neil Manson (Andrew Lancel) confides in Suzie about his affair with the late PC Andrea Dunbar and the fact that his marriage is falling apart. The pair embrace as Gary watches on. How will Gary interpret what he sees?
ITV1 Network Thursday 23 June 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
On the beat, PC’s Gabriel Kent (Todd Carty) and Roger Valentine (John Bowler) arrest a troubled youngster who turns out to be PCSO Laura Bryant's (Melanie Kilburn) son, Liam. They discover he is being bullied because of his mother’s job and surprisingly, Gabriel takes a gentle approach to the case - helping to build bridges between himself and Laura.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Adam Okaro (Cyril Nri) joins Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) on patrol to prove to uniform that even after the attempted strike, there are no hard feelings. Things prove tricky when they attend to a traffic accident. Recent memories of his family tragedy take over and June is mortified when Adam takes his grief out on one of the drivers, reacting aggressively and excessively to the situation. Can an increasingly irrational Okaro be trusted on the beat?
Elsewhere, DC Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) and DC Gary Best (Ciaran Griffiths) are assigned to a burglary involving stolen laptops. The case links two brothers and the possible abduction of one of their wives. During the investigation, Jo stumbles across an old informant - super-grass Seth Mercer (Philip Martin Brown).
The informant helps Jo with pieces of information until DS Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) compromises their relationship by surreptitiously approaching Seth herself. When catching the two women in the middle of a slanging match, an enraged DCI Jack Meadows (Simon Rouse) berates them. Could this be the beginning of a feud between Samantha and Jo?
Also, as a result of DC Suzie Sim’s (Wendy Kweh) incessant patronising and bullying, Gary finally loses his cool and, in the middle of a briefing, accuses her of being a jumped up back-stabbing bully. DS Phil Hunter (Scott Maslen) tells him that no one will want to work with him again after his outburst. Are Gary’s days numbered?
