i want to buy my daughter a new stereo but i want to connect her tv to it for a better sound with the stereo she has at present you cant do that, so what do i look for on the info bit
Why would you want to connect it to a TV for better sound?
IMO, its best getting an iPod with a surround system. They are very good. What's your budget?
Is it the TV sound you want to improve?
I would have to agree with NB re. ipod and speaker system, some of them are really good.

I have connected my new telly to a little Sony stereo system to improve the tinny sound of the telly and it works fine. Had the stereo quite a while, the tv is new so I did not look out for anything. Is it not the quality of the speakers that determine the sound? The stereo cost around 250 Euro, but that was bought in Spain where technical goods are quite expensive.
