Comic Peter Kay is to record a charity single for this year's Children in Need appeal, which he says has the potential to be "another Amarillo". The as yet unnamed track will be accompanied by an all-star video featuring almost 100 famous faces.
Kay, 36, said making the video had been "a real labour of love".
The comedian's cover version of Tony Christie's Is This the Way to Amarillo, released in aid of Comic Relief, was the UK's best-selling single of 2005.
He went on to release two more charity singles, raising funds for Comic Relief and the NSPCC.
'Astonished'
Kay's Amarillo video featured a host of famous faces, among them Sir Michael Parkinson, Ronnie Corbett and children's character Mr Blobby.
But the Phoenix Nights star has pledged even more celebrities when the video is unveiled on Children in Need night on 20 November.
"It's taken two years of planning to create the video and I just know people are going to be both astonished and delighted," he said.
The comic's efforts have been applauded by Children in Need chief David Ramsden, who said the charity was "really excited".
"We're sure Peter Kay's Midas touch will help to create an iconic charity single," he added.
