Kimberley Walsh has revealed that Girls Aloud are hoping to record their next album in the summer.
The members of the Brit Award-winning girlband are currently working on solo projects, but Walsh explained that Brian Higgins, the group's songwriter/producer, will already be crafting the follow-up to last year's Out Of Control (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a147534/girls-aloud-announce-new-single-details.html) LP.
"He'll be writing already. He'll have carried on writing even just when we finished the last album, so hopefully we'll get in the studio next year - summer, hopefully," Walsh told DS.
However, she admitted that the group have made no firm plans regarding the recording and release of the album.
"We've never ever planned in terms of months or weeks. It's always a rush but that's part of the madness that actually helps us somehow," she said.
"Maybe it's the pressure? Once we say, 'Right, we're going to come in and do an album', creatively [Brian] will be like 'Right right right!' I think sometimes that works better. We fly by the seat of our pants. We do everything last minute but it works."
Walsh also confirmed that she has no plans to record any solo material, despite covering 'Rainy Days and Mondays' for ITV1's upcoming Carpenters special (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a185549/walsh-knight-for-itv1-carpenters-special.html).
"It was nice to sing something that suited my voice a little bit more. Obviously the stuff we do in Girls Aloud is different. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I'm not looking to do anything on my own at the moment," she said.
