I have been looking for the film alert thread all week but can't find it. I'm asuming it was disifranchised when the board was tidy up. Apologies if I haven't looked properly. But I had to post this: Tomorrow at 3pm on CH5. The greatest film ever made will be 70 years old. Will be shown. Followed by the Disney classic The Aristocats at 5pm. Come on forget about the ironing and homework. Sit down to watch a couple of classic films.

I may get my mum to put this on cause i saw a wicked a few weeks ago and thats basically before the wizard of oz came, althrough the wizard of oz is older then it. if that made sense? :lol:

Tannie this is my favourite film. I remember seeing it over 35 years ago and have loved it eversince. I have it on DVD and watch it every time it is on the tv. It's a classic.

I'm trying to think the last time i watched it and i honestly can't remember cause my dad's always been in the house and i very rarley get the tv well anyone very rarely gets the tv when he's home. May get it recorded hrough.

Same here.. it is one of those movies you watch over and over and even if owned on DVD, you will watch on TV... My daughter loves it too and has a special edition copy.. we watch it together when the boys leave the house.. the witch used to scare me so much as a child.

We watched it yesterday along with The Aristocats. When Marley was a little I used to do my wicked witch of the west voice "I'll get youmy pretty one. And your little dog too" she would bawl she hated it now she just laughs.

The child catcher in Chitty chitty bang bang use to scare me more than that witch in the wizard of oz..both are very scary

:eek::eek: I am shocked... there is 3 movies everyone should see.. Willy wonka and the chocolate factory (not the new rubbish one), Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty bang bang...
