Jessie wallace is supposed to be at it again according to 1 of the papaers this morning apparently she went of her trolly cos she lost her mobile and was really abusive to members of the crew and was sent home.

Why doesn't that suprise me, sooner or later she is going to fall out with the entire cast and crew and have no mates, silly woman.

which newspaper was it? i know shes going through a lot but its not going to help her acting like this towards people
If this is true she needs to get a grip.
So she's having problems -who doesn't? There was also the bust up that she 'supposedly' had with Letitia Dean as well. I don't know how valid that is but it doesn't look good. Tina Baker also mentioned that Jessie called her ‘tippy princess toes’ as well as the Sunday mirror.
To have a strop over a phone whilst heavy filming is petty.

It's from the sun online which i got the link from the walford web, here's the full story.Jessie Wallace was sent packing from ee after throwing a tantrum when she lost her phone. The actress 33 who plays kat slater worked herself into a frenzy and bosses thought she was to out of control to carry on filming.

I don't know how everyone else feels but i think she's just about played out the sympathy card, cos this isn't a 1 off, she's been all over the tabloids for years with her drunken behaviour, drunk driving, domestic problems, lets face it she's a grown women with a good job, alright she's now a single parent but so are a lot of women,my sisters friend is only 24 now a single parent ,suffered domestic abuse and through all this has managed to hold onto her job like thousands of other women and whats more the other women have to leave their problems at home or they would be sacked on the spot and would end up back on benefits,i'm afraid to say miss wallace should realise just how privelidged she is and start acting her age not her shoe size.

Eastenders have said she was sent home ill last Thursday and returned to work as normal on the Friday so don't believe everything you read. That's what really annoys me, people making judgements on what tabloids write.

Well said Callummc.. I am single parent now.. and I am sure my job would not have been too happy if I had behaved as Jessie when I was going through my divorce.. I would have been sacked on the spot and as you said.. this is not the first time she has behaved this way
squarelady
07-06-2005, 10:36
That's a very fair comment Siobhan but your divorce has not been splashed all over the papers and television. - I firmly believe that she's going through a really hard time and the papers have been picked on her constantly. And you know why? Because she's refused to give them a story and she's not retailiated to Dave Morgan's ridiculous comments. He's a nasty piece of work and if he cared anything for his daughter he wouldn't have sold the story in the first place.
Eastenders have denied all these rumours and I think people should wait until she leaves or we here from her rather than making snap judgements on someone. Maybe some people should read the topic in General Chat about making judgements. You don't know the full facts you only know what a bit of old fish and chip paper is saying about someone who has always been stereotyped like her character. It's unfair and it's nasty.

Totally agree with you. So she is having problems, don't we all. If I behaved like that at work I would be disciplined and sacked. Jesse Wallace has had chance after chance, even being suspended and now she is back to behaving badly. Of course, EE are going to say she was sent home ill, they have paid a fortune to have her back and they really don't need any more bad behaviour when they are trying to turn things around. If people choose to believe the tabloids over this, she has no-one but herself to blame considering her past behaviour.
Any sympathy I had with Jesse Wallace has long gone. Other actors have been sacked from EE for far less than she has done. She is a disgrace and needs to gow up. She also needs to realise just how lucky she is. It's a shame because I've totally lost interest in the character now and actually think bringing her back was a mistake.

That is all we get to see is the tabloids... Jesse wallace has been in them quite alot with her on-screen sister Lynne getting very very drunk. Ok, you shouldn't make a snap judgement on anyone but we have seen her past and it is hard not to believe that she would get drunk and miss-behave...

Yes but Ee allways deny these things ,all i can say is that the writings on the wall for her now, there's only 2 ways she can go,1 she can get on with the cards she's been dealt, get on with life and wait to see what the future holds and act her age or in the end she'll lose her job and with her track record she won't get much work she'll just end up a sad, bitter, alcoholic with no friends and no money.

I just can't believe that everyone takes the word of the newspaper as solid and then starts slagging Jessie Wallace off. So much for giving people the benifit of the doubt, or taking things with a pinch of salt.

I don't like people being judged on the rubbish they print in tabloid newspaper. Tabloids are always out to ruin lives and careers. She's not my favorite soap character, I just think it's unfair on anyone full stop. What's the point in sueing everytime a false article is printed? Celebs would be permanently in court.
For a while now a lot of negative things have been printed in various tabloids about Jessie Wallace, however most of them have been denied by EastEnders and the BBC. It's a fair point that of course EE will deny anything's going on if it is so it doesn't get even more negative press however we also have to take the OFFICIAL word from the OFFICIAL camp that all is okay. So if they're saying she DID get sent home for being ill that's what we SHOULD believe.
Jessie is yet another soap actor with an over-inflated ego. All the soaps have them. Jessie seems to enjoy the press attention

So does her boyfriend!
First Babara Winsor then Letitia Dean and now the crew what has happned to her
All of the above has been officially denied.
course it is,there not going to 'officially admit it are they?'
course it is,there not going to 'officially admit it are they?'
Exactly my point but we should believe what we're told from the official source. We cannot prove that they are lying. I just think people haven't learnt their lesson, believing everything the tabloids say. The tabloids running this story will find themselves in my "emergency toilet basket". I often run out of toilet paper so I keep an emergency supply of papers.
Ps: The amount of times the papers get it wrong is astonishing. Look at all the apologies they make to people for lying about them. You may not have noticed because they normally only put small ones in to save face.

Actually I don't think that part about the tabloids wanting to ruin lives is true. They want (celebs) to continue working and getting in trouble in order to show everyone how "little rich kids" act when they are upset. This way we can compare them to ourselves and decide "Hey who do they think they are? they have everything handed to them and we have to work for a living and still they act the fool and take the piss." So that being said it is in the interest of the tabloids to keep these people around for us to read about and let us begin to hate them for having more than the rest of us. Thereby ensuring that we continue to read about them and their antics in the future. However, keep in mind that there is a "grain" of truth to most of these stories or else they would be sued for libel much more often than they are.
My sister is an actress here in the states and it really ticks me off when her and her peers complain about the lack of privacy. A couple of years ago my little sister would have eaten dog food with a leash on her neck to be on TV and be noticed. Then when they get popular and every notices them they are now upset. As I have told her a thousand times...this is a career that owes its existence to the public and without them you are just like the rest of us. Since the early days of Hollywood we have heard the stories time and time again. Too much publicity makes you a public commodity and if this is the life you did not want, perhaps you might want to get back behind the counter at Kinko's and quit whining. But it amazes me that the only celebs that seem to complain about their privacy (or lack of) are the B celebs. Seems most of the A-list have found a happy medium or have just learned to deal with it. The size of the tantrums is often in direct contrast to the amount of talent. (ie, Russell Crowe) the bigger he gets, the worse he gets. Perhaps he will bite off someone's ear one day like Mike Tyson and finally we will have had enough of him.
Doesn't that give you a sore bottom?
Nope lol!
I'm afraid I'm agreeing with squarelady on this score, it's just not on :thumbsdow Really mad now

actually your probably right at this moment in time because there isnt really alot to choose from in there cast at the moment is there?

Why are they dead? The ratings haven't changed much for ages. EastEnders has lost about 1-2 million viewers, normally it gets 11 million viewers, it used to get 12-13. Atm all the ratings are down about 1-2 million because of the time of year. Corrie has gone from 12-13 to 10-11 and EE has gone from 11 to 9-10, Emmerdale has dropped too as have the other soaps. When it's the right time of the year EE will get it's usual 11 million. And who knows with the right scripts/plots it could tempt back the runaway viewers it lost?
I cannot understand why people continuously have a downer on the show, yet insist on watching it? Out of habit? That's a stupid reason and absolutely pathetic and one I will NOT be prepared to swallow should I see anybody say it! I'm not having a go or anything or at anyone in particular but this issue is really winding me up and starting to grate on my nerves. Leave my soap alone, clear off and enjoy your Coronation Street. I'm really annoyed, there are loads of great actors/actresses still in EE they just need the chance to shine and show off their abilities. Unlike say Hollyoaks the people in EE aren't hired just based on their looks.
Look at the fabulous Pam St. Clement who plays Pat and has done consistently since 1986, and then look at the fabulous June Brown who plays Dot Cotton, another soap legend and a brilliant actress. There is loads of great characters in the show chance.

June Brown won a lifetime achievement award at the last soap awards and her and Jim won best on-screen partnership.

Why do some people always believe what they read in the papers? Yes Jessie may or may not have got up upset the other day and was allowed home. She went back to work the following day. Whatever the reason we don't know. The BBC say she was ill the paper said she lost her phone and got in a panic over it. Either way its been totally blown out of proportion. People have bad days at work. Those saying she's got an ego don't even know her so how they can say one way or another. As it happens whenever I've seen her interviewed on TV she comes across giggly but quite shy. And very nervous of the media!
I grant you Jessie gets more than her fair share of press attention. Perhaps this is partly her fault from when she firsted started the show. However at the end of the day as long as putting Jessie Wallace on the front of mags and tabloids increases sales the press will continue to publish the tiniest details of life whether true or not.
I'm worried for her and just wish the press would leave her alone for once.
i think Jesies mind is really Fragile the now

I think it's clearly obvious with interviews she's done like the one with Radio 1 that she doesn't like press attention! If she liked press attention why doesn't she sell her story!
I think it's clearly obvious with interviews she's done like the one with Radio 1 that she doesn't like press attention! If she liked press attention why doesn't she sell her story!
She does but not to the papers. She has talked about her relationship with Dave in mag interviews aswell as the birth of her new born. Also there were those shots of her and Dave including model shots. This was pointed out in court when she tried to stop him from selling his story and I don't blame this for being highlighted either. It’s not just been when she first started but last year too.
No offence to Jessie Wallace, who I do think is a great actress but even selling intimate details to mags is setting yourself up for more exposure from the tabloids. If you are already in the public eye, they are more likely to be targeted for negative press in the future. This is something that all clebs should know and it's the price you pay with fame really. I don't think she loves the attention or wants what she is getting now but if she or any actor/actress doesn't want this they shouldn’t be so naive to talk so personally in magazines and not get bad press later.

Now that was uncalled for.
Nigel's a very good actor, and he wasn't hired just for his looks, as a drama student I would say he is one of the best actors in soap and I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan either.
There are a lot of good looking actors who are put down for their acting skills because of their good looks, actors who I don't like but I will still defend in the way I defend Nigel because a lot of people, mainly men, will imply that these actors only got their job because of their looks when they can act and are very good at what they do.

I know it wasnt' at me and I don't take offence.. its cool.. I was just replying to say that is it is not all jealousy or men who think good looking men can't act.. You have to admit that soaps are hiring men for looks rather than ability but I don't think either applies to Warren Baldwin in corrie :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't know how he is described as emotional less -did you see the episode when Den used his sexual molestation as a weapon. His portrayal of a broken man was excellent and to me that’s where he stepped up in acting ladder. That still, to this day goes down as my favourite episode of 2004. Simply brilliant.

Yeah he was fantastic in that and I loved the one where he shot Jack Dalton but it is possible that if he is just with Sharon then he will be come boring... Nigel has great emotional ability and his character need to be put in a suitation where he has to fight...

I don't think he will. The two hander when he confessed murdering Jack to her was excellent and he showed great vulnerability. We have sense a different side to him when he is with her and that’s why so many people have really taken to their relationship. It was a strong powerful raw emotional that was exerted superbly.
I don't think he will lose the aggressive moddy trait to him now that he has found love. Sure he has changed but his initial persona is the same and the issues of his neglect, sexual abuse are yet to be unravelled. There is a lot of pent up frustration and blocked feelings which will undoubtbasle come to the forefront at some point. I always thought that Sharon was the ideal person for him to confide in over his past too, that’s if ever does. :)
EDIT: Also I don't think he will just be with Sharon. I think it's important that both characters interact with various people in the square.

I'd love to see him doing some stuff along side Billy Murray
Johnny Allen and Dennis move in similar worlds.

I hope not, I'm fed up of the whole Dennis Vs Phil thing. Well, I just don't like the Mitchells much but I admire the way they've built Sam up on her own in the square without 'the boys'. *can't stand Peggy* Hopefully Phil's business with be with Johnny too. After all Johnny know's the Mitchells!
Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree on this one. Nigel Harman is an emotionless wooden actor IMHO.
i have to agree with you onthat one alan. he is very nice to look at but that is about it!! he cannot act at all!

I'd be inclined to agree when he started. He'd been doing theatre work and it took him a long time to adjust but weren't you moved at all by his acting in any of the scenes towards Christmas/Dealing with his abuse? - Maybe I'm soft but it broke my heart to watch it! - To speak to Nigel and then to see Dennis the difference in character is so extreme...he's acting is brilliant!
He's certainly not the best and I haven't seen anybody in this thread claim he is however he CAN act and has PROVED this.

Agreed - I've seen better but I haven't seen better from a male actor in Eastenders at the moment, not since he left anyway! - Excluding Leslie Grantham, who's in a league of his own!

Been following this thread all day but havent had chance to respond cause been at work.
But
Re - Jessie Wallace - shes intitled to loose it shes just had a baby, returned to work and her love life's been splashed all over the press. Sometimes you tend to loose it over the smallest things rather than the bigger issues going on in your life.
Re - tabloids - I think they are entitled to criticise (sp?) tv programme's (which we pay a licence fee for) when they are not living up to the publics expections, which IMO is EE at the moment, although I think they will be eating their words in a few weeks!! Its when they say actor/actress is looking too fat/too thin is when its out of order.
Re - Nigel Harmen - IMO - is not the best or worst actor going a the mo (and yes he is very "easy on the eye") but it fits with the character of Dennis, I think we will see alot more of Nigels acting ability when the start to delve in to his childhood, like we seen with his scenes with Den in the Vic.

From what I gather they're smicks.
Smicks??
Chaves are people who wear head to toe in cheap designer clothes (namley burberry) and have lots of "bling" normally from Elizabeth Duke at Argos!!! and have no idea of about style!!! would wear something just cause its trendy rather than it because it suites them.
I dont think the Millars are Chav's

Precisely, smicks... spides, milly's (girl version). Not forgetting the loud tracksuits and the earrings large enough for them to get their half-tanned wrists stuck through.

i agree i wouldnt describe the millers as chavs, although thats how a lot of people describe chavs, prob cos they havent really seen many real chavs. where i live there are absolutely loads of chavs and i absolutely agree with your explanation of them, huge thick (fake) gold earrings about 10 in each ear (well a bit of an exaggeration but you know what i mean), lots of burberry especially burberry accessories like bags and scarves, they wear loads of necklaces at once with huge figures (cant actually think of the right word) on them and huge solid rings all over their hands. they normally sound really really common as well, and im not saying that horribly as most of them put it on. my sis friend is now one of the biggest chavs i know and she sounds disgusting when she talks and she never used to sound like that, she puts it on as thats how they all talk. and before anyone gets offended, im not saying all people who sound a bit common are chavs and sound disgusting, there is a big diff to the way they talk and a way everyone else talks and it sounds dreadful

Eastenders have said she was sent home ill last Thursday and returned to work as normal on the Friday so don't believe everything you read. That's what really annoys me, people making judgements on what tabloids write.
i wasnt making a judgement on what i read. if you read it properly, youd see i said "IF" it was true, not that i believed it was. i was just making a statement saying that IF the papers were actually right then she shouldnt be allowed to get away with how she behaves. again im not saying its true..........

Thanks for the translation! I was way off. However, we have those too, only we call them (probably more resembling a chav) spacones.
Pronounced sch-par-kons. they like their jewelry and clothes, but they mostly like people to witness them spending money. And if you happen to miss it, they let you know. "Ay, kid, you know how much that friggin'stuff cost me? A half-a c-note ($50). Ya buleve that crap? Good thing i got that kinda money, huh? Here have a sawbuck ($10) for not breathin' near me." Spoken phonetically with an affected fake mafia-type Italian accent, no matter what their real nationality is.
I would imagine that means a smick for me is what we call fake hoodie, or a ghetto gangster. Most of these are middle-class white kids with mom and dads money, who like to pretend they come from the ghetto. A bunch of junior Ali G's. I guess things aren't so different here from there after all.
Definately! We don't know what really happened, we weren't there. No point in judging her by what one stupid tabloid says!
As has been discussed here before Jessie has brought a lot of her publicity adverse and otherwise upon herself. I would not be in the least bit surprised if some of the so called leaks emenated from someone at the BBC themselves. After all there are some who think that any publicity is better than no publicity. Call me a cynic but it is probably just a pure coincidence that the publicity coincides with her return to Albert Square.
As for tabloids twisting things. It was the tabloids who broke the news about her arrest and conviction for drunk driving. The same tabloids broke the story about her falling in love with the policeman who was taking her to court. They broke the story about him leaving his wife for her, losing his job. becoming a fireman etc. (all above stories were denied at the time)
So not just rule the tabloids out of hand because they may upset us about our favourite soap stars.
Some of these stars court publicity so they have to take the rough with the smooth.
Yes alan I understand what you're saying but because it's been officially denied we have to believe that.
TRue. However soaps are like politics the official denials usually come out before the truth
If we beleived everything that was "Officially" Denied we'd all be in big trouble!!!
her and her husband in it(alfie) bet you both of them think they are the bee's knee's and run the whole thing behind the scenes, well try to anyway.
Exactly and they think that they are bigger than the show, they are not the show will go on without them!
With regards to the tabloid "Rumours" yes tabloids are rumour mongers and I take anything printed with them with a pinch of salt, but I have to add one thing "There is no smoke withour fire...."
