2681: Duncan arrives in the village
Airs on Monday, November 2 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

Spencer's at a loss over to what to do with himself now that he's the boss of a nightclub, so Calvin sends him down to the SU Bar to study his target market. While there, Spencer happens to stumble upon Dave and ropes him into showing him how to play pool. As they begin to get a little rowdy, a crowd forms and the bar manager's not impressed, so Spencer invites everyone to the Loft for a free party.

When they turn up, Dave's worried that Spencer doesn't realise that everyone's taking advantage of him but Spencer enjoys the attention and ignores his concerns. Dave begins collecting money from students to make Spencer some profit but Spencer wants to start a game of poker, like Warren used to play.

The card game gets underway but Zak begins to ponder how Calvin will react when he finds out what's going on. Dave assures him that he's collected some money and he leaves it by the till. Calvin eventually arrives and tries, against Spencer's will, to kick everyone out. Dave tries to calm Calvin down but Calvin reacts badly and knocks Dave to the floor…

Meanwhile, Archie's moving out of halls to make way for India. As he searches for potential new flatmates in the SU Bar, Kris takes pity on him and agrees to ask Zak and Elliot if he can move back in. Unsurprisingly, their initial response is a resounding 'no' but after a lot of pleading and reasoning on Archie's behalf, Kris eventually manages to talk Zak around. Archie's chuffed but the good news quickly turns sour when he realises that the term 'flat mates' doesn't equate to 'friends' - it's clear that Elliot needs some serious convincing.

Archie steps up to the plate and makes the grandest gesture he can - he burns his little black book in front of Elliot. Unimpressed, Elliot stands firm. Just as Archie thinks that he'll have to leave Hollyoaks, Elliot tells him that he can stay - but he'll never, ever call him a friend again.

Elsewhere, Neville's serving a young looking stranger in the pub when Suzanne walks in and instantly recognises the stranger as Duncan - their 15-year-old Godson. Neville's furious that he nearly served him and it's clear that the pair have had previous run-ins. Despite Nevillie's protests, Suzanne insists that he stays around and Duncan wastes no time in laying some of his moves on Anita.

Ricky's later annoyed when Duncan joins him on his paper-round. They initially they don't get along but Ricky's eventually taken in by Duncan's alleged video-gaming prowess and begins to wonder if he's a real hit with the ladies. When Duncan challenges him to skate a makeshift ramp over the river, Ricky obliges.

At the last moment Ricky bottles it, confessing that he can't swim and Duncan's forced to admit that he can't either. At that moment, an unexpected bond is forged between the pair. Anita later finds them by the river and spots that the newspapers haven't been delivered. She lays into Duncan but before Ricky gets the chance to decide whose side he's on, an irate Neville and Suzanne arrive, wondering why the newspapers are in the river. Duncan quickly points his finger at Ricky, admonishing himself of any responsibility.

2682: Josh and Dave don India's clothes
Airs on Tuesday, November 3 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

Mercedes is frustrated over not having enough sex and a quickie with Malachy is interrupted by a message from Calvin ordering them to get to work. At the Loft, Spencer finds an envelope full of cash from Dave to pay for yesterday's shenanigans. Calvin tells Spencer that he doesn't need mates like Dave, while Mercedes pitches a drinks promotion to the brewery people.

Sasha's angry that she wasn't consulted but Mercedes replies that Calvin told her to do the presentation. Sasha thinks that since Calvin hit a punter yesterday, his authority has been undermined. She argues they need to get the students back in and suggests Malachy flirt with punters to keep them at the bar. Battle lines are quickly drawn between Mercedes and Sasha.

Later, Mercedes and Malachy flirt outrageously with customers. Sasha tries to wind up Mercedes by making out that Malachy's enjoying the female attention and she eventually pushes Mercedes over the edge. Mercedes tries to get Malachy's attention by upping her flirting antics but she doesn't get the reaction she'd wanted.

Calvin turns up to see what's going on and reprimands Sasha for not working as hard as Mercedes. With that, Sasha decides to doll herself up and compete with Mercedes. She tries to get a reaction out of Malachy by pointing out how flirtatious Mercedes is around other men but he's confused by his laid back attitude towards it all.

After work, Mercedes admits to Malachy that she found it hard to see him flirting with other women. When they get home, Mercedes tries to seduce Malachy but he's too tired and she's left frustrated once again…

Hayley resents Josh's friendship with India, while Rhys is worried that he's lost his mojo after hearing some home truths from Sasha. Meanwhile, Spencer turns up at halls to see Dave with the cash Dave left to pay for the bar bill the previous day. Spencer lies that Calvin wanted Dave to use the money to throw a party for the students. Over on The Dog patio, India's mortified when her washing bag splits. Josh doesn't understand her embarrassment at first, but then notices that someone has glued a plastic poo to a pair of her knickers.

Rhys is still smarting from Sasha's home truths and goes to see Josh. When gets there, Dave's trying to persuade India to go out on the money Spencer gave him, but she doesn't want to leave the house. Rhys wants to know if Josh is in there with India but Josh insists that their friendship is purely platonic.

India's still reluctant to go out until everyone persuades her that they're not going without her. Rhys, meanwhile, notices that Hayley doesn't like India in the slightest. At the SU, Rhys tries to seduce India but Hayley intervenes to tell India there's something nasty written in the toilets about her. With that, India runs off again, prompting Josh and Dave to hatch a plan in a bid to take the focus off India.

While Charlotte's comforting India, Josh and Dave mince back in wearing her clothes. Suddenly all eyes are on them. Hayley tries to flirt with Josh but he pushes her away. She leaves, and Rhys follows her. Back at halls, Rhys tries to convince Hayley that they were perfect together and Josh is horrified when he returns home to find Rhys and Hayley kissing…

2683: Mercedes and Calvin kiss
Airs on Wednesday, November 4 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

Mercedes is annoyed that Malachy spurned her advances the previous night. Insisting that time apart will be good for them both, a suspicious Mercedes is only satisfied when he promises to make it up to her later in the day. Arriving at the Loft, Mercedes throws Malachy when she shows up unannounced. Sasha's amused to see how much she's getting to him.

Hiding away in the office gives him no peace, either, especially when Mercedes tracks him down. When Sasha interrupts the moment, Malachy's grateful. Mercedes, however, is left feeling frustrated.

Discovering Lauren wandering round the club, Calvin falls into big brother mode and tells her to go home. His attention is quickly diverted by India's arrival. Quick to introduce himself, he's left gutted when India heads over to join Dave instead of having a drink with him.

Malachy finally snaps and tells Mercedes that he's feeling suffocated by her attention and needs his own space - working and living together is becoming too much. Confiding her fears to Calvin, Mercedes' attention is soon focused on him and what appears to be a friendly chat leads to something more…

Cindy feels like time is passing her by but is thrilled when an under pressure Tony suggests that they have a night out together. However, realising that he's looking after Tom and helping him with his WWI homework, Tony has to backtrack and let Cindy down gently. Furious that she's stuck in work, Cindy takes her frustration out on Dominic.

When Cindy and Dom's spat comes to a head, Tony steps in and diffuses the situation, before settling down to help Tom with his homework. As his thoughts turn to his great grandfather, Tony decides to do something to commemorate the sacrifices made during the war and declares that he's holding a theme day…

The students are surprised when Rhys emerges from Hayley's bedroom - it's clear that they've spent the night together. Under interrogation from Dave and India, Hayley's quick to pass off her night with Rhys as a one off. Rhys, however, can't praise her enough to Josh and informs him that they're really into each other again.

Confronting Hayley about her rekindled relationship with his brother, Josh finds himself on the receiving end of a harsh put down. Hayley tells Josh exactly what she thinks of his attempts to put her off Rhys, which, in turn, pushes her closer to his elder brother…

Elsewhere, Anita's loneliness shows no sign of abating when Lauren tells her what she thinks of her friendship-making ploy. Lauren's concerned when she hears someone crying in the school toilets and unable to get a response, leaves, completely unaware that it's Anita.

After school, Anita's paranoia grows when she sees Lauren and Gaz together. Fearing that they're plotting against her, Anita seeks out Hannah and lies that she's not been eating. Desperate for her attention, she lets Hannah think that she's the only person who can help her. Agreeing to support her, Hannah soon finds herself in too deep…

2684: Spencer has an accident with a firework
Airs on Thursday, November 5 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

Cindy is becoming increasingly frustrated with Tony and the lack of attention he's been giving her. Tony, on the other hand, is completely absorbed in the planning of his veterans' day at Il Gnosh and totally oblivious to Cindy's mood, any complaints fall on deaf ears.

As Tony reminds her how much it means to him to honour the memory of his great grandfather who fought for the country, Cindy only has money on her mind and takes the medals to be valued.

As Tony and Dom return home, Tony's aggrieved that after asking Cindy to prepare dinner for the kids, they're eating a greasy, unhealthy takeaway. Fed up of being chastised, Cindy lets Dom in on a secret - his great-grandfather was German.

Meanwhile, Nancy's becoming concerned about Anita and Hannah's budding friendship. At school, Nancy notices that Anita's wearing one of Hannah's bracelets that she bought her but when confronted as to its origin, Anita tells Nancy that Hannah let her borrow it.

Feeling guilty, Anita quickly finds Hannah and confesses that she stole the bracelet. Hannah's shocked but decides to go easy on her. When Nancy admits to Hannah that she finds her friendship with Anita slightly odd, Hannah becomes extremely defensive and admits to Nancy that Anita has an eating disorder.

Nancy's put out that Anita didn't confide in her but Hannah's quick to point out the reasons why, giving Nancy food for thought. Hannah feels that if anyone can help Anita, it's her and so in an effort to make her see the damage an eating disorder can cause, she bravely hands over her diary.

Things are awkward between Mercedes and Calvin after their kiss the previous night. Preparing for bonfire night at The Loft, they purposely try to avoid each other. When Mercedes feels like Calvin is deliberately being unfair on Malachy, she decides to confront him but an argument quickly ensues and the tension mounts between the pair.

In an attempt to defuse the situation, Mercedes apologises to Calvin but his cool attitude quickly riles her again and the apology descends into another fight. As things heat up, it looks like Mercedes and Calvin are actually fighting their attraction but before they can give in, Malachy's arrival throws them.

The students are in good spirits as they make a guy for the bonfire at The Loft. Spencer's arrival at halls puts a dampener on things for Dave as, although he knows it's harsh, he doesn't want him tagging along with them.

Knowing that his brother's being strung along, Josh tells Hayley to end it with Rhys after he sees them having a laugh together. Rhys is furious when he overhears this but is left gutted when Hayley dumps him for the second time.

Elsewhere, a lonely Spencer is fed up of being left out. He gets chatting to India but Dave soon drags her away. Left to his own devices, Spencer wanders off but when Sasha sees him with lit fireworks in his hand, she screams for him to stop. Everyone watches on in horror as the firework in Spencer's hand explodes.

2685: Jacqui's mortified by the magazine pictures
Airs on Friday, November 6 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

Leila's worried that Anita's not eating and turns to Nancy for help. Nancy's concerned by what she's told her and asks Anita to stay behind in class. Anita assures her that everything's fine but when she discovers Hannah's diary in Anita's bag, Nancy's suspicious and takes it from her.

Leila's furious when Nancy tells her that she found Hannah's diary among Anita's belongings and storms round - along with Nancy and a mortified Anita - to confront Hannah. Hannah tries to defend her actions and insists that she was only trying to show her what a mess an eating disorder can make of her life but Leila's too angry to listen and storms off.

Leila's worried sick about Anita - she knows she needs help but she doesn't know how to give it to her. Hannah's devastated and tries to talk to Nancy but she accuses her of making things worse and wants nothing to do with her. In a desperate attempt to gain control, a distressed Hannah almost binges, before breaking down in tears….

Jacqui's horrified when she discovers that the photographs she posed for in London are to be featured in this month's lads' mag. Loved up with Des, she buys all the magazine stock from Drive 'N' Buy and bins them, desperate to hide the snaps from him. However, she's unaware that a curious Duncan has been watching her.

An excited Duncan and Ricky retrieve one of the magazines and head to Il Gnosh. They're thrilled when they find the pictures of Jacqui but they're gutted when Tony confiscates the mag. Des turns up and is stunned when he sees the photos and immediately goes to see Jacqui. Jacqui's mortified and tells him to leave, before heading to Il Gnosh to have it out with Tony.

Later, Jacqui's impressed when Des turns up with a special pose of his own and insists on taking her out to dinner.

Meanwhile, Tony flies the Union Jack as the veterans attend his event in memory of his great grandfather. He brags about what a fantastic Englishman his great granddad was as he proudly shows off his medals and slates the Germans. Tony's furious when he sees Duncan and Ricky reading an adult mag and confiscates it from them but he's gobsmacked when he sees the pictures of Jacqui and quickly tries to hide it when Des arrives.

As Tony prepares to give his speech to the veterans, Cindy and Dominic can't bear to listen anymore and Tony's left reeling when Dominic reveals their 'great' granddad was actually German.

Tony abruptly puts an end to his veterans' day just as Jacqui bursts in and accuses him of perving over her pictures because he's not getting what he wants from Cindy. Tony's hurt when Cindy turns on him - she's struggling to deal with his pompous attitude and questions why she ever married him.

Spencer's treated in hospital for first-degree burns after the firework exploded in his hand. Sasha feels guilty for not looking out for him and Calvin's annoyed that none of his friends kept an eye on him - especially Dave. Spencer catches up with Dave in the SU Bar and wants to hang out with him but he's upset when he tells him he's at university to have fun and doesn't want the responsibility of looking after him.

Unable to articulate his feelings, a hurt Spencer hurries away. Sasha has a go at Dave but he touches a nerve when he insists that the only reason he didn't see Spencer near the firework was because she was flirting with him.

Hollyoaks' troubled barman Ste continues to keep quiet about Brendan's violence in the coming weeks - but Amy starts to become suspicious when the explanations he offers for his injuries don't add up.

While this is going on, Ste grows frustrated over the secrecy surrounding his relationship with the nightclub manager and asks him why they can't just tell everyone that they're an item.

As Ste continues to suggest that they should go public, an angry Brendan tries to shut him up by grabbing his face - just as Amy walks in. Will she put the pieces of the puzzle together and realise what's been happening between Brendan and Ste?
