Home and Away series producer Cameron Welsh has revealed new details about the soap's current mystery plot.

The storyline, which has promised to deliver the show's "best ever" finale, will take a dramatic turn in a couple of weeks when 12 dead bodies are discovered in a shipwreck.

Speaking to TV Week about the gruesome discovery, Welsh said: "It's a huge clue for the mystery - the biggest we've seen yet. We can tell by how doggedly Angelo (Luke Jacobz) investigates this discovery that it's hugely important to him. Exactly why will be revealed very soon.

"From the moment Angelo and Hugo (Bernard Curry) make their shocking discovery, the story quickly gains momentum. And the big reveal is only weeks away - it's about to explode!"

Welsh added that fans should watch the character of Angelo, saying: "We should pay attention to everything and everyone, but particularly Angelo - he's definitely the key. If viewers have followed the various storylines he's been involved in, they'll have pieced together most of the clues."

It's all revealed in the first week back from the season finale. Late Jan/early Feb for Aus viewers and six weeks after that for UK and Ireland.

I don't know if Five and RTE are taking a break over Christmas like Seven do. If they don't, they'll broadcast at around the same time when it returns to Seven.

Is Angelo the bad guy?

Also are Nicole and Aden in an relationship are they in love?

Aden is fighting his feelings for Nicole.

As for Angelo... Luke is sticking around well into next year so I'm guessing he's not the bad guy.

damn you beat me too it.

One thing that has been said, its not Angelo who tries to shoot Charlie.
Angelo is left handed and the gun is being held in the right hand. Also the person doesn't have the same build as him.

I think its either Hugo or Derrick possibly tbh.

I never really like hugo.

Also i do not think Angelo would shoot charlie he is meant to be in love with her is not?

i dont think she dies.
a bay regular is meant to die next year, but Esther Anderson (who plays Charlie) has not said anything about leaving.

my fingers are crossed for Martha to die.

Angelo does love Charlie but some changelo haters were spreading junk about him shooting her.

They have been proved wrong, see above.
