They once divided the nation into those who loved their song and those who detested it.
With their gap-toothed smiles and off-key singing, The St Winifred's School Choir topped the Christmas charts in 1980 with There's no one quite like Grandma.
The eight to 12-year-old youngsters from the Stockport school even knocked John Lennon from top position.

As they sang the lyrics 'Grandma, we love you/ Grandma, we do/ Though you may be far away/ We think of you' on Top of the Pops, with the girls dressed in pink and the boys in blue, they either warmed hearts or made viewers cringe.
Now, ten former members of the choir have reformed to relaunch the single in a bid for a Christmas number one.
All are in their late 30s and early 40s, and their professions include a police detective, a human resources consultant and a mortgage adviser.
Topping the hit parade may prove tricky as for the past four years winners of the TV talent show The X Factor have had a stranglehold on the coveted spot.
But to help their quest, former X Factor vocal coach Annie Skates will help record their opus once more.

Proceeds will go to drink firm Innocent's Big Knit campaign, which aims to raise funds for Age Concern and Help the Aged.
Grandma was the UK's Christmas number one from December 27, 1980 to January 3 1981.

It knocked Lennon's Merry Christmas (War is Over), which had become number one after the former Beatle was shot dead, from the top spot.
