Uncle Umed is leaving Coronation Street to head back to India, says Soap Queen Sharon Marshall on ITV's This Morning.

The doorbell incident made me laugh so much as Dev used to have quality storylines and now he is reduced to silly storylines like this one

I like him in short scenes, he makes me laugh. Not sure I could cope with him in a major storyline, although his exit will have him on screen a fair bit, I expect.
Dev discovers that Umed has gambling debts in Mumbai and urges him to get back to sort it

He was rubbish and a totally pointless character. He looked like a Thunderbirds Puppet and in fact acts like one

His little scene was so heartfelt :(
I kind of wished he had been like this when he joined the street instead of being so manic.

I agree. A pity we've found out more about the character, and then he leaves.

So Uncle Umed is due to leave soon......
I wonder - will he take Teresa with him? He seemed very fond of her and she doesn't have any reason to stick around anymore.
