Summer Hoyland is moving back into Ramsay Street.

The daughter of Max Hoyland (Stephen Lovatt) and stepdaughter to Steph Scully (Carla Bonner) will return to Australian screens in February.

However, the Herald Sun reports that original actress Marisa Siketa will not be reprising the role and has instead been replaced by 17-year-old Jordy Lucas.

Lucas, who was a runner-up in last year's 'Neighbours Next Big Stars' talent search, began filming with the soap this week.

The point of this being! She has no family there but Steph i suppose. I could understand if it was with the origional actress but even thats changed why didnt they just make a new role.

i knew we'd get Summer back one day! lol! however, saying that, since Steph never even mentions Max it is a bit random

I expect she will mention him in future or the storyline is for Summer to appear back on Ramsey Street in a surprise/emergency situation.

Neighbours' new Summer Hoyland has revealed that mystery will surround the character when she returns to Ramsay Street.

Actress Jordy Lucas was cast in the role of Steph Scully's (Carla Bonner) stepdaughter late last year, taking over from Marisa Siketa, who played the part between 2002 and 2007.

Summer will be back on Australian screens next week. In her early scenes, she will be discovered hiding out at the local garage before later being spotted racing out of the kitchen at Charlie's Bar.

Lucas told TV Week: "She's back in Erinsborough under rather ambiguous circumstances after studying at music school. At first, no-one knows who she is.

"She's wearing boyish clothes and ends up with half the street running after her! Her arrival's baffling."

Lucas started filming with Neighbours in October.

Summer Hoyland returns to Australian scenes next week after more than two years away.

And word has it her arrival in Ramsay Street is rather strange - and not just because she looks like a completely different person!

Jordy Lucas, who has taken over the role of Steph's stepdaughter from Marisa Siketa, said mystery surrounds her character on her return to Erinsborough.

The actress told TV Week: "She's back in Erinsborough under rather ambiguous circumstances after studying at music school. At first, no one knows who she is.

"She's wearing boyish clothes and ends up with half the street running after her! Her arrival's baffling."

Summer's early Neighbours scenes will see her caught hiding at the local garage before being spotted running out of the kitchen at Charlie's Bar.

In an interview last year, Will Moore revealed that his character, Harry Ramsay, will take a shine to Summer.
