According to The Hollywood Reporter, Benjamin Bratt will guest star in ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family. He will play the ex-husband of Gloria. Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) plays Gloria’s much older husband, who has to contend with with her son Manny’s idolization of his dad. Bratt is confirmed for one episode for now.

Starts on TV3 - Irish TV Thursday the 15th October at 7.30pm

ABC's Modern Family just keeps getting bigger: Elizabeth Banks and Chazz Palminteri will both guest-star on the new comedy later this season

Banks (W, Scrubs) will play a friend who Cam and Mitchell partied with before they adopted a baby girl. Having lost her friends, Banks' character begins to hate the couple's little bundle of joy.

Palminteri (Bullets over Broadway, The Usual Suspects) will play a friend of the patriarch (Ed O'Neill). Banks and Palminteri will appear in separate episodes.

The duo's casting follows the announcement of guest spots from Shelley Long, Benjamin Bratt and Edward Norton.

Minnie Driver will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Modern Family.

The 39-year-old actress will play Claire's friend and former co-worker who she hasn't seen in years.

She previously appeared as a guest star on a sitcom playing Karen's nemesis on Will & Grace. Driver, who received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in 1997's Good Will Hunting, also starred in FX's The Riches.

Other guest stars coming to the new ABC comedy include Benjamin Bratt, Elizabeth Banks and Edward Norton. Driver's episode will air in January.
