Is there actually any difference between bottled water and tap water or is it just a way of the supermarkets making more money?

My mam's recently stopped buying it as she says its waste of money.

I think there is more minerals in bottled water and best bought when you are away where drinking water from taps is not purified... Tap water in Ireland and UK is just as good I think

^ I would agree with that. I prefer the taste of tap water to mineral.

Mineral water is completely natural so doesn't have any chemical treatments in to kill bacteria etc. like what is put in tap water.

I prefer bottled water.. or if it is from the tap then it has to be put in a fridge first. Can't drink it straight from the tap.

I drink loads of sparkling bottled water because no matter how much tap water I drink, I am still thirsty. Only the bubbles seem to do the trick. But I don't mind the taste of tap water if that is all that is available.

Different brands taste different, you might need to try a few and also the amount of carbonation differs, you can get water with just a hint of bubbles, medium of very gassy water.

Hey. :p Is a bit chloriney I guess...

Bristol water tastes different.

Personally I can't see the point of buying something you can get out of your tap...water is water..

Unless you are abroad then its probably a better idea to drink bottled water.

Unless you want cholera or typhoid or just a bog standard GI bug

I think there is some difference but at work some people will not drink from the water machine and opt for bottled water instead.....

Isn't it the same thing except in a bigger bottle on a cooler stand?

Thats what I thought but some people have frowned upon the idea of using the water from the water cooler and I'm puzzled as I thought it was similar

The only time I buy bottled water is when we are out and about shopping and stuff, but mainly I use tap water. (Council juice we call it) Marley takes a bottle or water with her everday to school I have bought her one of these E-freeze bottles they have gel stick in the middle, which you take out and stick in the freezer every night then I fill the bottle with water and stick it in the fridge, then in the morning you just pop the gel stick back in. It keeps the water cold for up to six hours.

Abigail

Supermarkets usually sell them.

Cola-cola launched a new product ages ago called Dasani. If you believed the marketing hype, it was suppossed to be the best thing ever. Turned out to be bottled tap water.

Most of the supermarket sell them beside the kids lunch boxes and juice bottles. I got mines from Matalan it cost £5.50.

This is mainly what you get in Germany.. fizzy water to different degrees.. I found it really hard to get a normal still water anywhere in Germany.. almost like trying to find a decent cup of normal tea and then asking for milk... you swear you asked them to spit in it :rotfl::rotfl:

Milk for tea  It is either lemon juice (ok) or condensed milk . And you can't get a decent cup of tea anywhere. The rare occasion I have a hot drink in a cafe or restaurant I chose hot chocolate, tea is horrible and coffee too strong for my liking.

I would have to take a supply of my Scottish Blend t-bags with me if I went to Germany. I need a cuppa tea in the morning.

Thanks for reminding me about chamomile tea. I'm going through a really bad patch of insomnia and I remember Perdita (I think) saying c tea helps.

I had a cup about half an hour ago and I can't stay awake :) It's great stuff, doesn't taste as bad as some other herbal stuff that I've tried (which is pretty much everything not on prescription) and it works. It's 1220am and I'm heading to bed, something I haven't done in a long time.

Yep, it was me that recommended a nice cup of camomile tea before going to bed. Glad it worked for you :D
