View Full Version : Christmas 2009
It is not even the end of September, yet the shops are already full with Christmas goodies.
I heard on the radio this morning that a listener has already bought and wrapped most of the presents for her family and friends. Anybody on here this well organised? I have not even started to think about Crimbo.
My sister is.. I am last minute, internet shopping person.. although I do have my flights booked for going to Germany.. Christmas markets here I come!!!
I haven't even thought about it. It's far too early yet.
I've started buying some bits for my 2 daughters and I've booked our Pantomime tickets.

Three months to xmas. I just love the commercialisation of xmas. Couldn't be further from what Jesus preached!

I have brought a few bits for my daughter.. got a few ideas for people.
I have got a big family buy for about 25 people and got my nephews birthday in november and neices birthday in december....
My other sisters baby is due in october...
So i have to think and start early.....
That is a large family you have got, pinkles. You are right, you need to start planning early lol
Went into Primark today and they've got decorations in.
I like to be organised, but to be honest my kids are at a mercenary age - they just want money.
I could buy the selection boxes and chocolates now, but it would be counter productive - I would end up eating them myself and having to buy new ones!
I like the family meals at Christmas, and my brother's children are much younger than mine - my little niece makes Christmas for our family really.
To me Christmas is about the three Fs, family, friends and food.
I am not fussed about presents, I am not religious, I just like having something to look forwards to in the middle of winter when the day light is short.
I haven't even got my friend anything for her 18th yet and that's next week, never mind Christmas!
B&Q has announced the availability of Christmas trees sliced in half, which have been designed for residents of smaller houses or flats.
The trees appear full from the front but have no back and can be placed directly against the wall of a room, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Christmas buyer at the company Elaine Walter said: "In modern small houses, saving space is crucial, and as a result compact products are much in demand.
"These half Christmas trees are being introduced to help create that same warm festive look, using half the space and decorated in half the time."
The trees are on sale this year for the price of £29.98.

Should come in handy for some :)
No way, its september, it needs to be December before i think about Christmas, someone said its 3 months till christmas day in one of my lectures just to get my reaction!
It's actually October now Katy! :p
I might start thinking xmas early this year, just cos im away from home and money situation is very different this year.
On the upside its easier to hide pressies :p

I started Christmas shopping last Friday when it was my payday as I get paid twice this month and for once I wanted to be organised instead of the last minute panic. As I usually go home to Denmark I have been known in the past to buy everyones present at the airport this year I wanted to put some thought into everyone's gift.
I think that those half christmas trees are a good idea but I'd assume that in most cases, those living in smaller houses and flats can't actually afford anywhere else, so I think the price of them might be a bit steep.
Still not thinking about Christmas, I have 3 more birthdays to buy for before then!

I've just got to wrap up a few presents today, seeing my nan later and been invited to town for a couple of drinks this evening which should be fun.
What's everyone else up to today?

Revision :( My parents have gone shopping but forgotten to take their phones so I can't ring and ask them to finish my shopping.
Might text my friend and see if she wants to go to the pub tonight. Not really in a drinking mood though and I'm skint.
Aww Abigail, how did you manage to forget a few people?

Not forget as such, just a couple of people who are difficult to buy for. I was going for a nice box of chocolates (what else do you buy the people who have everything?) but didn't see any that I liked and were cheap enough so I said I'd wait a few days.
I'll send my mum to the garden centre when she comes back to buy a couple of plants.
Yeah thats true
Im just waiting for my friends to pop round, we are gonna have a catch up as well as give each other our presents
