I agree Cora is an awful woman, she is meant to be. She does have a softer side, look at the support she gave to Denise.

Perhaps Whitney could move to Weatherfield and work at Underworlds sewing, scrap that they don't sew the knickers there any more it is out sourced, they just pack 'em. Perhaps whit could pull a pint in the Rovers, they are always looking for barmaids and it is so easy to find employment in Weatherfield, the world is her oyster (eccles cake)
