Tenplay to screen Neighbours Webisode series over Summer

With the season finale of Neighbours just around the corner, Tenplay has announced an exclusive summer series.


For the first time ever, Neighbours fans can also get their dose of Ramsay Street drama and action over the show’s summer break thanks to a special series of 10 webisodes starting on Monday 5 December.

The new instalments of Neighbours are five bespoke storylines created especially for online, to run across 10 webisodes. The three to five minute-long episodes feature some of the show’s favourite characters and will be released every Monday and Thursday following the season’s climactic cliffhanger on Friday

The five Neighbours webisode storylines are:

Week 1: Ben heads to Frankston to make amends with Xanthe but gets more than he bargained for when he is thrust into the middle of the annual Canning family wheelbarrow race.

Week 2: Amy has not had much luck with men. Can a holiday romance help break the pattern?

Week 3: Can Karl deliver on his promise to Susan to serve a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings?

Week 4: Tyler plans a romantic evening in the city for Piper, but can she sneak away to see in the New Year with him?

Week 5: Toadie and Stonie try to make sense of the events that took place in the television series’ cliffhanger on Eleven

Neighbours fans across the UK will be treated to an extra special Christmas present in their stockings this year as the show will air a series of webisodes throughout the festive period.

For the first time ever, viewers will be able to follow the Ramsay Street drama during the Christmas break - when the show is traditionally off air.

And that's not all , as there will also be an extra special treat on Christmas Day when the indomitable Sheila Canning addresses the nation.

Five bespoke storylines have been created to make these extra special bonus scenes, which will play out across Neighbours' Facebook page between the show's going off air in December and its return in January.

Topping it all will be a special Christmas Day feature from Sheila Canning, who will regally espouse the dramatic changes she's experienced in her life over the last year.

The other episodes will include Ben and Xanthe hitting the rocks, Karl panicking over cooking Christmas dinner, and Piper and Tyler's struggle to spend New Year's Eve together.

The fifth and final week of webisodes will follow up on Toadie Rebecchi's life-changing discovery that his wife Dee could be alive after all these years, and will explore what he does in the aftermath of such a revelation.

Neighbours' Senior Social and Digital Producer, Ric Forster said: "Following the popularity of our Xanthe ♥ Ben soap bubble earlier in the year, we thought it would be fun to try something new.

"These new episodes give Neighbours fans a special Christmas treat so that they never miss their favourite daily drama while the show takes its festive break on Channel 5. We hope the fans love them and have as much fun watching them as we had making them."

The webisodes will each be one to two minutes long and will play out every weekday from Monday, December 5 through to Friday, January 9, 2017.
