The kiss of death?
Amber and Daniel's seemingly unbreakable love is rocked by a shocking betrayal.

Imitially concerned about Rain's influence over Daniel, it's now apparent that Amber is the one who's fast falling for Rain's charming outlook on like and her plans to establish a New Eden commune in Erinsborough, especially when a meditation session with her boyfriend's ex-flame leaves her vulnerable and exposed to Rain's every whim.

When Lauren (Kate Kendall) expresses her fears for Amber's (Jenna Rosenow) well-being which are echoed by Daniel's (Tim Phillipps) reservations following his discovery of Rain's recent lies, Amber explodes over their character condemnation of Rain, opening the door for the charming Rain (Airlie Dodds) to futher lure them into her web.

Amber is soon labelled one of hte privileged few who truly embrace and understand the powerful secrets of New Eden, prompting her to announce to Daniel that she wants them to move to the commune! Although reluctant, Daniel goes along with the plan for now, leaving an irate Lauren to pitch a public objection to the establishment of the commune.

As Rain hits back with an intimidating threat, Amber is none the wise as she aggravates Lauren further by declaring that she's deferring university studies to permanently join the New Eden community.

When a fuelled Lauren takes further action against Rain, Daniel finally sees his ex's true colours and with Lauren's assistance, tries convincing Amber to distance herself from Rain before it's too late. Instead, a belligerent Amber submits to Rain's brainwashing and is soon preparing to dump Daniel!

As the situation comes to a dramatic head, there's further obstacles lying in Daniel and Amber's path to true love when Imogen (Ariel Kaplan), already despondent of her family's mounting problems, fails to get the VCE results she needs for acceptance into her chosen university. Breaking down by the lake, Imogen is shocked when Daniel (the guy she's desperately in love with) finds her. Showing his compassion, Daniel has no idea what lies ahead when he and Imogen find themselves alone.

As Imogen pours out her heartache, Daniel's sympathetic support motivates Imogen to throw caution to the wind and passionately kiss the flustered young man, failing to recognise that she's just committed the same abhorrent act that she once chastised Amber for doing when she cheated on Josh (Harley Bonner) with Daniel.

Three's company
The new girl in town puts a wedge through Amber and Daniel's relationship.

For Amber, it's exam week and the stress is starting to show. As the exam-room doors open, life gets a bit too much and she has a huge meltdown.

Newcomer Rain comes to her rescue, reminding Amber she's an artist and no test can ever take that away from her.

This unexpected chat brings the two closer. After hearing of their new-found friendship, Daniel (Tim Phillipps) tells his ex-girlfriend Rain (Airlie Dodds) he and Amber (Jenna Rosenow) will help set up the commune New Eden.

Paul (Stefan Dennis) isn't too pleased about this, though, believing Rain is distracting Daniel.

Aware of Paul's concerns, Amber tries to redirect Daniel's attention but this doesn't make Rain happy and she lashes out. Later apologising and winning Amber over in the process, Rain offers her a meditation CD to help her relax.

Hmm, wonder how Daniel feels about the two getting so cosy?

"For a while, he thinks it's just fantastic," Tim says. "Everyone's getting along, so that's great but soon he realises Rain is getting too involved in Amber's life.

Meanwhile, Daniel is working with Imogen (Ariel Kaplan) on bookwork at the bar adn teh two get talking.

She confesses she won't be attending the school formal because she doesn't want to go alone. Imogen admits the one person she likes doesn't even know she exists. Take the hint, Daniel!

"He totally oblivious to the fact Imogen has strong feelings for him," Tim says. "Daniel's just happy-go-lucky friends with everyone. If he wasn't, he would've noticed her behaviour towards him can be a bit odd sometimes..."
