As I haven’t lived in the UK for more than twenty years, I wouldn’t know, so is it now commonplace in the UK to use the word ‘get’ erroneously?
I do remember a couple of years ago, when someone was in Roy's Rolls and said to Roy, ‘Can I get a cup of tea?”, to which Roy replied, ‘No, you’re the customer, I will get it for you.’
