Things are critical after last week's crash and Robert struggles to cope.

Meanwhile, Moira confides in Ross the police have found a body which they think might be Adam's. Ross encourages her to find out for sure and supports her as the police return. Ross holds Moira up as she breaks down in relief, but once the police have left, Moira is unable to live with the guilt, confesses to Ross she murdered Emma.

Elsewhere, Bob and Laurel try to be civil. Later, Bob is delighted when Lydia persuades an uneasy Brenda into planning her wedding.

    Tuesday

Cain comes to the farm and he and Moira kiss passionately, but what does this this mean for their future and Harriet's?

Meanwhile, Charity and Chas reassure a guilty Debbie she's more than welcome in their home.

Elsewhere, Zak and Lisa are concerned.

    Wednesday

Marlon inadvertently invites Jessie on a date to a wrestling night, but will she be interested?

Meanwhile, the Dingles meet their new neighbour.

Elsewhere, a scheme starts to take shape.

    Thursday (1)

Zak and Lisa are promised they will be given an option to discuss revising the golf course development plans with the architect and a lawyer at a party being held up at Home Farm that evening. Although dubious, they hope it's the truth.

Meanwhile, back at the Dingles', Samson and Noah play with their headsets and are completely oblivious to what is about to happen. A foreman knocks on the door before signalling to a bulldozer to begin knocking the house down.

Unaware, Samson and Noah are deep into their game as the digger makes an impact on the wall of the house. As bricks begin to fall inside, Samson and Noah are soon alerted to the danger. Will the boys get out unhurt?

Elsewhere, Rhona drops Jessie off at Marlon's for the wrestling night. Rhona decides to stay when she sees Paddy, but does this mean she's still got feelings for Paddy?

Emmerdale's Ross Barton turns violent with Moira Dingle next week after finally finding out the truth about Emma's death.

Ross still has no idea that Moira was the one who killed his mum last year, but everything is about to change in big episodes for the Bartons.

Next week's episodes see Moira (Natalie J Robb) finally reach breaking point as Ross kindly supports her through a very difficult time.

When the police reveal that they've found a body which may be Adam's, it's Ross who gives up his time to stay by Moira's side throughout the ordeal.

Moira ultimately receives a positive update from the police which sees her break down in relief, but when Ross continues to help her through the emotional day, she decides that she can't live with her guilt for any longer.

Realising that Ross deserves to know the truth, Moira confesses that she murdered Emma – prompting a furious reaction as he pins her violently to the wall.

When Pete arrives and breaks up the explosive argument, he also learns the truth about what happened to Emma. How will he react? And with Moira's fate now in the hands of the Barton brothers, could she still be handed in to the police?

Michael Parr, who plays Ross, revealed: "As you can imagine, Ross's reaction is pretty physical. Straight off the bat, Ross's default setting is attack, so that is what he does.

"That's when he goes and grabs Moira by the face. We're not allowed to grab by the throat, for compliance reasons, which is frustrating!

"Immediately all Ross hears is that someone has killed his mum, and it's a mixed bag because he did want her dead at that time. Had Pete done it, then I think he is the only one that would make Ross have said 'Okay, we won't say anything about this'.

"Moira does try and explain what happened, but when she tells that story, it just brings a whole lot of other things up for Ross, like that Moira has always been the reason that Ross has had a troubled childhood. He thinks: 'If it wasn't for you in my life, I might have turned out like the rest of them.' So he wants to remove her from the picture."

Asked whether Ross wants to publicly expose Moira's dark secret, Michael replied: "No, because there is a family shame there as well. There's also a relief of 'Thank God that I haven't done it', so Ross is off the hook, but he doesn't want anybody else knowing. He just wants a normal life for his son, at the end of the day.

"What Moira confesses, it makes it all worse, because after everything he's been through, he's finally starting to be nice and civil to people. He's also started to be really nice to Moira in the build-up and they are finally bonding as a family, but then she hits him with this."

I don't understand why Pete & Ross would be so upset over their mothers death or the fact that someone murdered her? (Even if it was Adam) Emma killed their father & brother. And if anyone says "but she was their mother" get real, thats just some bulls%$# writing.

To be honest I kind of wondered the same. Given that Ross was the one who took her (dragged her) to the viaduct in the first place and told her to jump. She wouldn’t have even been there if it wasn’t for him. And Pete basically told her to leave and if she came back he’d kill her himself. Maybe there’s an element of their own guilt there and they’re lashing out.

I blame James. James should never have gone back to her, should have stayed with Chas or maybe get together with Moira if he really loved her all this time. Emma never stopped loving him but James kept lying to her ...

I'd agree to some extent, Moira having her brother in-laws baby made her "no innocent bystander". But I'd blame the writers for the rest of a rubbish storyline. Most of 2017, Moira had been reduced to a background character. Which lead the writers scrambling for ideas of what to do with her. Making Moira Emma's murderer was a segue to a "Coira" reunion, which would again leave Cain Moira's knight in shinning armor. And all that boils down to some appalling story-telling.
