Well actually there is a small hardware shop right across the road from me, well it is the IOW, where we still live in the age of steam.

There are still a few, we have one in my town, but usually when the lease comes up for renewal and the rent increases and they close down. - Pity Kathy got rid of all her clutter, might have been some stuff amongst it she could have sold in the shop. Do you have electricity in IOW yet, if not candlelight can be so romantic.

We have one of those bods that comes round and lights the oil street lights of an evening.

Oh you could of hit the nail on the head there, Kathy is very likely to start buying loads of stock/junk and cluttering up the place with it so it becomes more a storage unit than a shop.

Oh and of course people suffering with her condition just hate to sell any of it.

In Glasgow the people that came round to light the gas lamps were called 'leeries'.

Ours is called Mable and she also collects the Night Soil You can set your clock to her, quite literally, she carries a clock that is correct and we set are sun dials to it.. I may have watched too much QI.

So Johnny has the sprog, I think unless he has left the country a squealing baby in the hands of a single man in his 60s will kinda give him away very quickly in a B n B or Hotel.

    First off....Note to Steve:
Try to not mention "Identifying Dead Bodies" when attempting to butter up to Eileen (she was only doing that very same thing a month ago, and the body she was identifying had killed a bunch of other people)

Secondly, Eva soon got onto the TV with her appeal (only in 'Soapland' I guess?)
