Home And Away actress Jessica Falkholt is fighting for her life following a car crash that killed both her parents.
The 28-year-old and her 21-year-old sister Annabelle are in critical condition in hospital after a car crash on the New South Wales coast on Boxing Day.
Jessica’s parents Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60, were killed in the head-on collision, while a 50-year-old man, Craig Anthony Whitall, who was driving the other car was also killed. It is believed the crash occurred due to one car being on the wrong side of the road.
Jessica and Annabelle were airlifted to hospital, with other motorists pulling the sisters out of the wreckage of their parents’ Mazda as the two vehicles went up in flames.
Jessica is in St George Hospital and her sister is in Liverpool Hospital; family has rushed to be at the sides of both siblings, according to 9 News.
Falkholt played Hope Morrison on Aussie soap Home And Away in 2016, a role she played for 16 episodes.
At the end of her Home And Away stint on 7 November 2016, Hope – the cousin of Raffy – was taken away to prison, and was involved in a kidnap storyline as well as an overdose plot.
She most recently filmed the fantasy movie Harmony, expected for release next year, and appeared in Underbelly: Badness after graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2015.
Her college profile says said she is Swedish on her father’s side and Italian on her mother’s side.
A friend of the family told the Sydney Morning Herald: ‘They were a very close family and had been on a quiet getaway. Jessica is a most beautiful person.’
Highway Patrol Chief Inspector Phil Brooks said: ‘Sadly those family members are travelling to the St George and Liverpool Hospitals to engage with their loved ones who are very much in a critical condition at this time.’
