That above article by the Sun is full of silliness and errors. Denise is apparently a vixen and a maneater, and Dot - despite June Brown having signed a new contract - is getting ready to say farewell.
I suppose at least the article does confirm that Max has returned angry and looking for revenge. I'm going to enjoy his game, twisted or not.
