Monday

Holly, Hannah and Adam are disappointed when John tells them that it's over with Moira. At the same time, Moira confides in Chas, who urges her to try harder with John as they are meant to be together.

Moira goes to the farm feeling determined, but as she talks to John, she realises they need to move on for everyone's sake. John is stunned when she tells him that she's agreeing to the divorce. However, he is surprised by how crushed he feels as Moira pushes to start the proceedings immediately.

Meanwhile, Marlon is awkward when Ali and Ruby return the money, and the couple soon row with Nicola over the rent. Later, Ruby overhears Nicola sniping about her and Ali. Ruby seems strong, but she lets her guard drop when they leave, looking upset and angry. Later, Ali hides her devastation when Ruby doesn't give reassurance she will remain with her and the kids.

Elsewhere, Pollard is determined to be there for Amy even if Val has walked away, while Zak resolves to do the right thing for Lisa on Valentine's Day.


Tuesday

John and Moira decide to speak to the kids, and Moira is sick with guilt as she tells them about the divorce. John's heart breaks as he watches Moira leave the house, and he hurls a mug at the wall in utter turmoil. Later, John visits Moira to ask how it went at the solicitors. Moira is unsure of his feelings as they both reminisce.

Moira tries to suss out what John is feeling, explaining that she still loves him but he has to truthfully tell her what he wants. Moira then breaks down in tears as John finally confesses he doesn't want a divorce.

Meanwhile, Ali is gobsmacked when Ruby tells her that she has the money to pay Declan. Ali is furious with Ruby, seeing how selfish she has been to have had this money hidden despite their worries and lack of funds to even feed the kids. Later, Ruby apologises for having the savings hidden, insisting that she wants to make it work if Ali will let her.

Elsewhere, Zak treats Lisa to lunch at the B&B, but Lisa is concerned for Zak when he complains about the meal and leaves.

Wednesday

The Barton kids are hopeful when John and Moira explain that the divorce is on hold. Moira and John are left to spend time together, both nervous and awkward about being alone. Following a discussion between the pair, John struggles with his feelings as Moira makes it clear she wants to go to the bedroom, but they are both hopeful they're back on track.

Later, Holly tells Chas the divorce is off and Adam suggests their parents need a push from them to get back together. Moira is delighted when John agrees to the kids' plan of a day at a hotel and the pair are excited about their reunion.

Meanwhile, Cain is frustrated when Aaron leaves the job he's working on to help Ed and his broken mini-bus. Aaron fixes the mini bus and Ed and the rugby team drive off, but Aaron is annoyed to notice that Ed has short-changed him.

Elsewhere, Paddy and Rhona get competitive, Nicola and Rachel seem annoyed when Ruby pays Declan the rent money, while Lisa is concerned when Zak's gesture of cooking breakfast doesn't work out.



Thursday

John and Moira are both shy and apprehensive as they head off for their night away, taking Andy's Land Rover so that Andy and Adam can use John's truck. As they reminisce over when they first got together, suddenly John hits a patch of ice in the road and the car skids at high speed, crashing through an obstruction and landing on its side in the darkness.

Badly hurt, John and Moira are terrified to realise they are trapped inside the vehicle. John calmly insists to Moira they will get out, but they're both scared as the car lurches forward and slips. Soon afterwards, Declan drives by with Katie and they call the emergency services when they see what has happened.


John desperately tries to free Moira, unaware that the car is teetering dangerously over the edge of a ravine. Declan and Katie struggle to free them both, but time runs out as the vehicle slips and plummets below. Do they make it out in time?

Later, Adam, Hannah and Holly are in the pub and receive a horrendous call from Katie telling them about the accident. At the hospital, utter devastation awaits them as the crash team and medics are forced to accept there is no hope…

Meanwhile, Aaron is intrigued by Ed as he hands him the money for the work on the minibus. He's unsure what to make of him as he invites him to a party that night, after the rugby match. Chas cajoles Aaron into going out when she finds out about the invite.

Elsewhere, Andy is thwarted in telling Debbie how he feels, Charity tries to persuade Declan to give her a job managing the festival and Katie's amused by the competition between her and Nicola, while Paddy is feeling second best to Rhona.



Friday

I think ED should be kinder to us Genhil fans. we waited patiently from July when Gennie told Nikhil she loved him, til November when he told her he loved her and they got together. We didn't see much of them their first Christmas as a couple, no idea what they bought each other, if they had Christmas day together etc and now it looks (from reading the spoilers) that we're not going to see them on their first Valentines Day together. I know there are a lot of characters needing airtime, but have a heart ED, its Valentine's Day!
