Oblivious to the atmosphere between her parents, Debbie (Charley Webb) is touched when Charity (Emma Atkins) hands her a small gift for her birthday. Cain (Jeff Hordley), looking on disdainfully at Charity’s display of affection, smugly hands Debbie the keys to a new car and she is clearly thrilled with his generosity. Later Chairty spots her chance to do a runner and insists that Debbie head off to the restaurant. As the whole family await Charity’s arrival, Debbie puts in a call but is left fleeing the restaurant when Noah answers and informs her that they are leaving. Will Debbie catch Charity in time?

Meanwhile, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) is on edge at the factory as she waits to hear from Sally (Sian Reeves). Desperately worried for her safety, Laurel heads off to Sally’s and is greeted by Vincent (Anthony Byrne) announcing that she isn’t in. Explaing that Sally has gone shopping, a phone call interrupts, and Laurel is left confused as she witnesses a measured and professional Vincent. Is Laurel starting to doubt Sally's stories?

Elsewhere, a dapper yet sombre Marlon (Mark Charnock) returns to the pub after a meeting with his solicitor about his divorce. Moira (Natalie J Robb) advises a downbeat Marlon to reason with Donna directly over the settlement and save himself some money by bypassing the use of a solicitor.

Ashley (John Middleton) is concerned when he can’t get hold of Sally (Sian Reeves) and goes to Vincent’s (Anthony Byrne) house to confront him about her whereabouts. Later, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) is deeply concerned when a battered and bruised Sally arrives. She admits the bruises are from Vincent, but tries to persuade Laurel and Ashley that it was an accident. Fraught with concern, Ashley insists that they get police involved, but a frail Sally urges him to give her time to think. Has Sally really felt the wrath of Vincent or is she playing a wicked game?

Meanwhile, Carl (Tom Lister) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) are being given a guided tour of the storage warehouse Cain keeps his money, under the pretence of being potential clients. Later, as they mull over drinks in the Woolpack, Jimmy tries to talk Carl out of his plan, warning that it could end in disaster. But will Carl listen?

Elsewhere, Maisie (Alice Coulthard) offers to help Katie (Sammy Winward) at the stables and both are amused to find that she actually enjoys herself. Following the hard day’s work, Katie is tending to Maisie’s cut hands when Ryan (James Sutton) arrives to pick her up. An uneasy Ryan isn't keen on Katie's idea of going for a drink with Maisie later.

Convincing Sally (Sian Reeves) that she has nothing to be ashamed of, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) suggests Ashley (John Middleton) call Bishop George (Peter Cartwright) to report the incident. Riled by the call, Ashley announces that the Bishop is on his way over with Vincent (Anthony Byrne). Once they arrive, Ashley proclaims that he won’t plead ignorance to Vincent’s beatings simply to avoid a village scandal. Later, Sally and Laurel are back at Mulberry when Vincent returns to confront Ashley’s personal vendetta but when the argument gets heated, Vincent threatens Ashley. Is this exactly what Sally wanted?

Meanwhile, Debbie (Charley Webb) is accosted by Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Zak (Steve Halliwell) in the café who show grave concern for her welfare. Clearly still bitter about Charity’s (Emma Atkins) departure, Debbie is unappreciative of their interference and storms off leaving them both distressed to see her suffering. Later, as Debbie’s hunched over an engine, she is shocked to turn and see Charity and Noah return in her car. Later, Debbie is listening to Charity explain that she couldn’t leave her, but the peace doesn’t last long as Cain (Jeff Hordley) arrives and orders Charity to go. Will Charity choose to stick around?

Elsewhere, as Nikhil (Rik Makarem) and Jai (Chris Bisson) arrive at the factory, Chas proposes that all the workers get a bonus for the extra hours they put in the previous night. Later in the Woolpack, as Nikhil treats the workers to a drink with Jai’s money, he agrees to have a housewarming party.

Despite being warned by Jimmy (Nick Miles) to drop the idea, Carl (Tom Lister) refuses to listen and intent on breaking into Tug Ghyll, he makes his way in through the back door after watching Charity (Emma Atkins) leave. Charity catches Carl red handed and when she threatens to call Cain (Jeff Hordley), Carl is forced to explain his actions. Exposing his plan to Charity, he offers her a 20% share if he helps her get the key and access card. WIll Charity really try to betray Cain again?

Home alone and bored, Sally heads out to the shop and bumps into Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy). As Laurel quickly departs back off to the factory, Sally is seething and calls Vincent (Anthony Byrne) asking that he call by Woodbine Cottage later on to talk. Edna comes home to find Sally shouting at Vincent to leave her alone, upset Sally insists she is going to go for a walk. Later, alone in the house, Edna is horrified when a brick comes hurtling through the window. Is this Vincent's doing or has Sally's scheming gone too far?

Meanwhile, David (Matthew Wolfenden) persuades a reluctant Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) to attend the Sharma’s housewarming party that evening. Leyla is relieved when Nathan decides he is not going to the party. However, when David comes to the shop to talk about the party Nathan leaves Leyla on edge when he announces his plans have changed and he'll be at the party.

Laughing off Carl's (Tom Lister) offer, Charity (Emma Atkins) stands aside letting Carl dart through the back door as Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Debbie (Charley Webb) arrive through the front. Later in the pub, Cain sends Charity to the bar for the next round, Cain belittles her by asking for his change back and feeling insulted, she returns to agree a deal with Carl for a 50/50 split of the money. Charity assures Carl that she can gain Cain's trust and get the key for the storage unit. Will Charity go through with her and Carl's plan?

Meanwhile, a distressed Edna (Shirley Stelfox) accosts Debbie and Cain as they pass by her house questioning if they’ve seen anyone around. Upon hearing that Vincent had made an appearance earlier, the finger is pointed at him for the attack on the house. Playing the martyr, Sally is quick to apologise for Vincent’s actions and is adamant they don’t call the police, convincing them instead that Vincent needs help. Scared of being caught, Sally emotionally pleads with Ashley to leave Vincent be until the dust has settled. Will Vincent clear his name or will Sally’s vindictive games continue to fool everyone?

Elsewhere, with the party in full swing, Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) catches Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) alone and doesn’t hesitate to wind her up.

Despite Nathan’s (Lyndon Ogbourne) sudden change of heart, Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) is wary of his motives when she receives a call from him demanding that she meet him on a road outside the village. As Leyla arrives she is shocked to see Nathan’s car in a ditch and understands his dilemma when he panics that if the police turn up he’ll get done for drink driving. Leyla refuses to lie for him but is worried when he turns nasty and threatens to spill the beans on their sordid secret unless she agrees. As the police arrive, will Leyla take the fall for Nathan?

Meanwhile, as Charity (Emma Atkins) starts on her mission to reel Cain (Jeff Hordley) in, she explains that she’s left the money under his bed. Later Charity is accosted by Carl (Tom Lister) in the Woolpack but she lays down the law and explains that it’ll take time to win over Cain’s trust but confidently assures him that she has several tricks up her sleeve. Can Cain see right through Charity or will she start to thaw his heart of stone?

Elsewhere, as Sally is moving her final belongings back into Mulberry Cottage, Ashley announces that although Vincent denied throwing the brick, he has been sent away to a retreat. Ashley greets Laurel’s (Charlotte Bellamy) return from the office with the news that Sally is back and they both agree that normality is a welcome return. But for how long will the peace remain?
