    Exclamation Corrie Spoilers 27th - 31st May 2024

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/cor...riff-kill-roy/

Coronation Street's Roy Cropper faces a terrifying showdown with Griff Reynolds next week.

The fan favourite finds himself in terrible danger when Griff decides that he must be guilty of Lauren Bolton's murder.

Roy is currently being held on remand at the prison after being arrested and charged over Lauren's presumed death.

Later this week, there's a worrying turn of events for Roy when Griff is transferred back to Weatherfield Prison. The villain has links to Lauren, whose father Reece was part of his far-right gang.

The story takes centre stage in next week's special week for Corrie, which sees the soap air every evening at 7.30pm.

Roy's week gets off to a bad start when he heads into his cell and finds that the book he's been reading has been deliberately damaged. The book lies soaked in tea and has a broken spine, in an apparent warning from Griff.

Before long, Griff makes his presence felt again by entering Roy's prison cell and snooping around.

Later, Griff instructs fellow prisoner Roscoe to lure Roy to the jail's library. An oblivious Roy goes along with Roscoe's invitation, giving Griff the opportunity to enter his empty cell once more.

Once Roy heads back from the library, he's unsettled to find Griff waiting for him.

Griff pulls out a weapon and menacingly orders Roy to reveal what he did with Lauren's body.

Roy refuses to confess to a murder he didn't commit, so Griff holds the makeshift knife to his throat and orders him to say his last words.

Is it the end for Roy, or can Griff be stopped before he commits another evil crime?

Next week's big week for Corrie sees the show air before the Britain's Got Talent live shows each evening.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Thursday, May 30.

Coronation Street has confirmed that next week's special episodes will centre around the Lauren Bolton mystery.

Fans can expect answers at last following three months of uncertainty about what happened to Lauren and who is responsible.

Corrie airs nightly from Monday to Friday next week, with a 30-minute episode each evening at 7.30pm.

The special schedule coincides with ITV airing the live Britain's Got Talent semi-final rounds, continuing the long tradition of the two shows screening side-by-side.

Corrie's big week sees Bethany Platt continue with her mission to prove that evil Nathan Curtis is responsible for Lauren's murder.

Sarah struggles with seeing her daughter at breaking point, so she makes another bold move to try and get rid of Nathan for good.

New detective Kit Green catches Sarah trying to plant evidence in Nathan's work van. He urges her not to play games like this and let the police do their jobs.

However, events soon take a new twist when the police find evidence of their own which could finally put Nathan in the frame.

A show statement teased: "Just as it looks like Swain and Kit are about to crack the case, the audience will be hit with a bolt out of the blue as a new piece of evidence reveals who Lauren's killer really is!

"Have the police got their man in Nathan, or is a predator still at large?"

Corrie's five-night week airing alongside Britain's Got Talent is an annual tradition for the show and always features the climax to a big storyline.

Last year's big week focused on Justin Rutherford's trial for Ryan Connor's acid attack, while 2022's dramatic episodes featured Imran Habeeb's tragic exit.

Emmerdale is also affected by next week's changes as it'll be returning to its old timeslot of 7pm for the week.

    Monday 27th

Sarah Platt forms a plan to protect her daughter

In a climactic week of episodes, stripped across five nights we finally find out who killed Lauren Bolton.

Sarah and Bethany report Nathan to the police for breaching the terms of his licence when he drives his van past her, freaking her out. As Bethany threatens to leave Weatherfield again, Sarah pays Nathan a visit at the building site, reminding him that he accepted ?10k to leave town.

Bethany reports Nathan to the police.

Meanwhile, Bethany is convinced that Nathan is to blame for Lauren?s murder and seeing her daughter at breaking point, Sarah takes a bold move to try and get rid of Bethany?s sex offender ex for good. When Nathan later laughs in her face, Sarah forms a plan and returns with a plastic bag containing Lauren?s hair bobble, found in her things that she left at the Platts.

Kit catches Sarah in the act, forcing her to admit she was planning to plant the hair bobble in Nathan?s van to prove he murdered Lauren. Kit urges her to let the police do their job and later news spreads through the street that Nathan has been arrested. Is Sarah in trouble? Or have the police found evidence of their own which puts Nathan in the frame?

With Roy remanded in custody, awaiting trial for Lauren?s murder, the pressure is mounting both on the man himself and those trying to prove his innocence. While friends and family who know him are convinced that Roy is innocent, others certainly aren?t. In Roy?s prison cell, the book he was reading lies soaked in tea with a broken spine.

    Tuesday 28th

Nathan Curtis is taken to the police station

The search for Lauren Bolton's killer continues and after looking through his van and discovering some USB sticks, Kit arrests Nathan Curtis on suspicion of breaching his sexual harm prevention order.

Nina informs Carla and Bobby that Roy will soon have a date for his trial. Later, DS Swain asks Carla why she?s fallen out with Roy but Carla shuts down the conversation.

Later, she then overhears DS Swain rowing with her daughter on the phone and offers an ear. Lisa explains her partner died and her daughter is struggling with her grief.

DS Swain visits Roy in prison and asks him outright if his fallout with Carla has anything to do with Bobby?s statement. She then arrests Bobby on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and warns Carla that Bobby?s lies aren?t helping anyone, least of all Roy.

And when far right activist Griff lands back in Weatherfield Prison, he takes it upon himself to try and force a confession out of Roy. He is out for blood and it soon becomes clear that Roy is in grave danger when he enters his prison cell.

Hope shows Ruby a necklace she found but Ruby points out that it doesn?t belong to her.

    Wednesday 29th

Roy Cropper comes face to face with Griff in his prison cell

Griff is on the warpath and decides to put his evil plan into action, ordering Roscoe to lure Roy Cropper to the prison library. As an oblivious Roy heads off to the library with Roscoe, Griff enters his empty cell. Returning from the library, Roy?s shocked to come face to face with Griff. Will Griff finally get rid of Roy for good and exact his wrongly placed revenge?

When Carla reveals that Bobby?s been arrested for perverting the course of justice, Dee-Dee realises with horror that Roy?s defence is up in smoke. She privately hopes Bobby?s statement will be enough to exonerate him but is it too little too late for poor Roy?

Meanwhile, the police continue to search for Lauren Bolton?s killer.

    Thursday 30th

Roy Cropper panics as Griff pulls out a knife and attacks him

Pulling out the knife, Griff demands Roy Cropper tell him what he did with Lauren?s body. With Roy refusing to confess to murder, Griff holds the knife to his throat and orders Roy to say his last words.

Roy tries to reason with Griff.

Sarah asks Kit what they found in Nathan?s van and when he reveals it?s one of Lauren?s hairs and suggests she must have dropped it, he promises to keep her name out of it. With Joel present, DS Swain and Kit set about interviewing Nathan. When DS Swain reveals that the girl who provided him with an alibi for the night of Lauren?s disappearance has changed her mind, Nathan?s rattled.

As DS Swain questions him about his penchant for young girls and suggests he murdered Lauren, Nathan refuses to comment. Just as it looks like Swain and Kit are about to crack the case, the audience will be hit with a bolt out of the blue as a new piece of evidence reveals who Lauren?s killer really is! Have the police got their man in Nathan or is a predator still at large?

Sarah confides in Bethany and Daniel how she planned to set Nathan up and now he?s been arrested. Daniel?s incensed. However, he assures Bethany he would never grass up Sarah and his only hope is that Nathan really is guilty, because if not, the real murderer will walk free.

Meanwhile, Dee-dee?s furious when Joel reveals that he?s representing Nathan.

    Friday 31st

Nathan assures Joel that he?s innocent and suspects Sarah planted Lauren?s hair. In a bid to gather more evidence against Nathan, Daniel and Bethany call Nicky and beg her to put them in touch with Ellie as they suspect she has vital information.

Ellie describes to Bethany how she had a client who showered her with gifts and became more of a boyfriend, but suddenly turned nasty and threatened to kill her.

When Bethany shows her a photo of Nathan, will Ellie confirm it was him?

Carla Barlow offers DS Swain?s daughter some work experience at the factory.

DS Swain is touched by Carla's offer.

DS Swain is touched by Carla's offer.

As this climactic week of episodes comes to an end and we finally find out who killed Lauren Bolton will life on the street get back to some sort of normality?

Speaking about the special week of episodes, Executive Producer Iain MacLeod said: "This week is so gripping and unlike anything Coronation Street has done before, in terms of the story-telling. It's modern, really exciting and has some of our favourite characters right in the middle of the drama."

Why am I now expecting the absolute opposite?
