The Guardian reports that Sky Living has agreed to an exclusive deal with Gaumont International Television to carry its midseason NBC thriller series "Hannibal."

Director of Sky Living Antonia Hurford-Jones said. "We are delighted to be adding Hannibal to our lineup of quality US drama on Sky Living. We know this is something our customers really love and we are committed to bringing them the best the US has to offer. This series is perfect for Sky Living because it will appeal not only our core female audience, but to a shared one too. Plus it will complement our new original commissions which are starting to come through."

The series, written and produced by "Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller, follows characters from the famed Thomas Harris novel "Red Dragon," as FBI investigators lead by Hugh Dancy's Will Graham forge an unhealthy alliance with serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

Co-star Gina Torres ("Firefly") said of the series, "NBC is really doing something beautiful and smart, and they're pushing those boundaries. It is scary, it is creepy, it is heartening... and this cast that they've assembled - Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Mads Mikkelsen - they're really quite a trio."

The U.S. premiere date was previously announced as April 4th. While no firm date has been announced for U.K. audiences it is expected to follow soon after the stateside debut.
