She too honourable for that...another out of character twist

I don't know...she chased Roy (when Hayley was alive) remember. She's also done some bizarre things - like kidnap Norris - so I'm not sure there's anything that's out of character for Mary.
Seriously though, I hope it won't be a long-running affair and that this bloke will get together with Mary properly. Unfortunately, his description as a "ne'er do well" in the spoiler above doesn't fill me with confidence!

I don't want Mary to be in an affair
I thought perhaps Tim's dad was going to be introduced so he could be love interest for Mary, a double wedding with Tim and Sally I think more scenes of Mary with Tim and Sally would be great

Coronation Street will dish out a "comeuppance" for Mary Taylor after she makes a controversial choice next month.
Mary was recently left devastated when she discovered that her love interest Brendan Finch (Ted Robbins) is a married man, but that certainly won't stop her from falling for his charms once again in upcoming scenes.
When Brendan promises Mary that he's merely biding his time before leaving his wife and setting up home with her instead, she can't believe her luck.
Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) also soon uncovers Brendan's secret, only to be left horrified when she realises that Mary already knows all about it.

Patti Clare, who plays Mary, told Inside Soap: "Every time she sees her friends, they remind her that she's carrying on with someone who's married, and in her heart of hearts she knows that. But it does get a bit irksome for her.
"Rita's a woman of the world, so she's not judgemental. She's coming at it from the point of view that she can see where this is heading and she knows that it's not going to end well for her.
"Whereas with Norris, there's more of a moral judgement and a little bit of panic. Mary accuses him of being jealous, and I think there might be an element of that."

Although Mary stubbornly ignores all of the warnings from her friends, it's clear that she's heading for a fall by trusting Brendan.
Clare added: "Coronation Street is a just show, so there will be a comeuppance for her. Mary will be taught a lesson. Let's just hope people will forgive her, though."
