Go BlancheBlanche Hunt (Maggie Jones) is setting her cap at new OAP hunk on the block George Richards (Anthony Valentine).
George walks into Weatherfield as granddad of Simon Barlow (Alexander Bain) and father of Lucy, the deceased wife of Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne). He quickly gets up the nose of Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) by spoiling their grandson rotten but love-starved Blanche welcomes him with open arms, telling daughter Deirdre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride): “Now that’s what I call a man.
"Good looking, good looking and loaded to boot. I think I’m in love.”
She then tries to get George all steamed up by regaling him with tales of how she got her teenage kicks as England’s yo-yo champion. No really.
We don’t know quite how George will resist but, for our sake, we hope he stays strong.

Corrie writters have missed and opportunity to write a storyline for Blanche and Dev's uncle they woul be a perfect comedy couple.
