I'm wondering if this is the year that Amy finds out Tracy sold her to Roy and Hayley as a baby... There seemed to be a tiny bit of foreshadowing of this in Friday's episode - Nina and Amy becoming friends, a reference to Roy being her godfather and of course, the symbolic gesture of Rita handing over Elsie Tanner's rings, which could also be the beginning of Amy as a character in her own right.
Lots of factors might come together: she's at an age where she's wondering about her parents relationship and how they weren't together properly when she was born, plus, she'll probably wonder why Roy is her godfather when Tracy has never liked him. Also, she'll be in Roy's orbit if she's becoming friends with Nina - maybe she will find something in the flat, a picture of her with Roy and Hayley, perhaps, from the brief time they looked after her?
It probably won't happen in the near future but Nina and Amy could start putting 2 and 2 together to make 50... I could be over thinking this of course, but she must find out at some stage (this is Corrie after all) and she's precocious enough to investigate it all and maybe confront Roy about it?...

Coronation Street is reportedly lining-up a drink spiking storyline for Amy Barlow.

The soap character is set to be taken to hospital, with her parents believing that she had an overdose and that drug dealer Jacob Hay has been leading her astray, The Sun reports.

Coronation Street is set to tackle the issue of non-consensual sex with a new storyline involving Amy Barlow and Aaron Sandford.

In scenes airing on March 3, a drunk Amy and Aaron head back to their flat following Aaron's heated argument with his girlfriend Summer.

The two soon start kissing and move to the bedroom, where Amy begins to undress before revealing that she feels sick and rolling away from him.

Aaron, on the other hand, continues to kiss Amy and decides for her that they will have sex.

It's not until the next day that Amy learns how far things went, realises she was unable to consent to sex and was therefore raped by Aaron, who tries to convince her that they both wanted it to happen.

As family, friends and the police get involved, viewers will see the different reactions and understandings of non-consensual sex as both teens struggle with what happened that night.

Coronation Street hopes the narrative will spark conversations between families and friends regarding some of the issues surrounding sex among young people, such as consent, awareness, respect and education.

Researchers from the ITV soap have also collaborated with The Schools Consent Project, a charity that sends legally trained volunteers into schools to provide workshops on the legal definition of sexual consent and key sexual offences.

Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow, opened up about the storyline and admitted that she was initially "anxious" to be taking the lead on such an "important issue".

She said: "There are so many different viewpoints from the characters, but for us it was important that when we portray that night it?s clear that while Amy doesn?t say the words, she definitely doesn't consent.

"That meant that we had to highlight her usual behaviour in the run up to the episode so that she didn?t act uncharacteristically, the characters were getting closer before the event, but even though they were friends that doesn?t mean it?s ok for him to do what he wants, this shouldn?t be a grey area.

"It?s huge to be a young actress on the show and to be given a storyline like this because it shows how much faith the team has in us, which in turn gives us the confidence to tackle the story. It won?t end here either, it will be interesting to see the character develop in a different way because this will stay with Amy for a long time.

"It?s important to note the way it will affect her mental health and wellbeing going forward, which is something else we want to highlight with this story."

Coronation Street's Amy Barlow is set to spark concern from Summer Spellman.

In upcoming scenes, Summer gives Amy a helping hand at the drop-in she has organised for the counselling charity.

A girl walks in and Summer hands her a flyer, but when Amy and Summer get distracted, she quickly leaves.

Amy becomes frustrated with herself when she notices this, wishing she had offered the girl some more help.

Summer becomes increasingly concerned for Amy and thinks she is giving herself too much of a hard time.

After her own ordeal earlier in the year, having been sexually assaulted by her flatmate Aaron Sandford, is Amy becoming over-invested in the charity at the expense of her own wellbeing?

The soap is also set to revisit the romantic spark between Amy and Aadi, who will become more involved with Amy as the show explores how she's coping after her assualt.

"Amy, despite outward appearances, is profoundly affected by what happened ? as she will be for the rest of her life. So there's another chapter of this," Coronation Street's producer Iain MacLeod explained.

"We wanted this chapter to be a final catharsis that doesn't allow Amy to move on exactly, because I don't know that you ever can. But it allows her to enter a different chapter of her reaction to what went on.

"Amy will find herself driven to some fairly extreme lengths, in what she sees as an attempt to right some wrongs. "

Coronation Street has revealed more on Amy Barlow's big new storyline. The soap is set to explore the residual trauma and impact of Amy being sexually-assaulted by Aaron Sandford as she leans on friends Summer Spellman and Aadi Alahan for support.

As part of this storyline, Amy will get involved in the ongoing bullying storyline where Dylan Wilson is being picked on by Mason Radcliffe.

Amy will encourage Dylan to stand up for himself, then she takes her own advice by deciding against staying in for the night.

She heads off to the local nightclub where she intervenes when she spots a man trying to spike another woman's drink. Amy knocks the drink away and leads this young woman to the restroom.

Amy explains to this young woman that she was once raped and now wants to help other young women feel safe and informed. Once the young woman thanks her and leaves, Amy puts a new plan into place by approaching the man who tried to spike the drink earlier.

Amy pretends to flirt with this man, Dan, but it remains to be seen what exactly she has planned for him.

Prior to this storyline beginning, producer Iain McLeod spoke to Digital Spy about the way Amy remains "profoundly affected" by her past trauma.

"We wanted this chapter to be a final catharsis that doesn't allow Amy to move on exactly, because I don't know that you ever can. But it allows her to enter a different chapter of her reaction to what went on," the producer said.

"Amy will find herself driven to some fairly extreme lengths, in what she sees as an attempt to right some wrongs. She feels that she's acting in an entirely justified way. But it will fall to one of her friends to pull it back from the brink before she criminalises herself essentially, in a pursuit of what she believes to be a just outcome."
