Obviously Shiv! It was nothing to do with them at all and the fact they didnt score an extra goal like they needed to! Fergie needs to read the rule book a shirt tug is an autmatic yellow card, and he had 2 bookable offences so Rafael was right to have been sent off.

THere just wasnt enough Fergie time.

Manchester United have responded to their Champions League failure by announcing their second new signing for next season.

The Old Trafford outfit have confirmed terms have been agreed with Chivas for promising young Mexico international Javier Hernandez.

Subject to a work permit, the deal will be completed on July 1.

'Chicharito' joins Fulham defender Chris Smalling as a new United recruit, and will become the first Mexican player to sign for the Old Trafford outfit.

As part of the deal, United will play a match to open the new 45,000 capacity Chivas Stadium in Guadalajara as part of its 2010/11 season preparations.

Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson said: "I am delighted to reach agreement with Chivas to bring such an exciting young striker, who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country.

"He will be a great addition to our squad and we look forward to welcoming our first Mexican player in the summer.

"We are equally excited to play our first game in Mexico, opening the magnificent new Chivas Stadium in July."

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez and Chris Smalling are officially United players.

The two new boys initially agreed deals to join the club during the last season, and their contracts are now effective.

United fans have been excited by Chicharito’s promising displays at the 2010 World Cup. The talented striker hit two goals in four games for Mexico, including a superb late effort in his side’s last-16 defeat to Argentina at the weekend.

Chicharito is determined to succeed at Old Trafford. "My expectations are to do the best I can personally, to work, to learn, and to win many trophies," the 22-year-old said when the deal was first announced – to near-universal surprise – in April.

Defender Smalling, who played 18 times for Fulham last season, agreed terms on a four-year deal in January. The 20-year-old will link up with his new team-mates at Carrington next week as those players not involved in the World Cup return to training.

Chicharito will be given some time off after his exploits in South Africa and will meet his new team-mates for the first time during July's trip to the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Reds fans will likely get their first glimpse of the duo during the tour, and Sir Alex has confirmed Chicharito will play some part in the friendly against his former club Chivas.

MANCHESTER United's £18m star Anderson was dragged unconscious from a crashed car shortly before it exploded, it has been reported.
The Brazilian midfielder spent several hours in hospital after the terrifying accident on a rural road in Portugal.
Witnesses said he owed his life to being pulled "lifeless" from the £125,000 Audi R8 shortly before it exploded in the Geres area of Braga.
According to local reports, Anderson, 22, spent the night at the Sardinha Biba nightclub before leaving in the Audi. It came off the road at 7am and hit the wall of a farm before landing in a field.
Anderson reportedly had two companions - a friend, whose name was given only as Victor, and an unnamed young Brazilian woman. It is unclear who was driving. Manchester United were unavailable for comment tonight.
All three were taken to hospital but discharged by late morning after being treated for concussion, whiplash and shock.
"They had only minor injuries," a hospital spokesman said. The woman is understood to have needed the most treatment.

Javi Hernandez was among the scorers as Manchester United defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Wembley to win their 18th Charity Shield.

Antonio Valencia tapped the first in for United in the 41st minute, when a wonderful long ball by Paul Scholes was played into the Ecuadorian by Wayne Rooney.

If the first goal was brilliant, the second was comical. Valencia played the ball into substitute Javi Hernandez. The Mexican’s mi**** shot ricocheted off his face and into the goal in the 76th minute.

Chelsea improved after that and Edwin van der Sar had to pull off several saves. Solomon Kalou eventually scored a rebound for the Blues in the 83rd minutes, a Daniel Sturridge shot was parried out to him by van der Sar.

Dimitar Berbatov eventually put the tie beyond doubt with a goal in injury time.

Sir Alex Ferguson has issued Wayne Rooney a spine-chilling ultimatum, according to this morning's Sun: Step out of line one more time and you've had it.

The paper claims that Fergie "read the Riot Act" to Rooney after dropping him for this weekend's match against Everton following a week of tabloid allegations about all sorts of post-watershed shenanigans with, ahem, ladies of ill repute.

The paper stops short of saying what the irascible Scot's ultimate sanction might be if the England striker fails to heed his warning, but it's probably safe to say that the Old Trafford Purchasing Department is on standby to order several new boxes of teacups for the Red Devils' dressing room.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star claims Rooney's greatest fear is that he would be parted from son Kai should he split up with wife Colleen.

The paper quotes the inevitable unnamed sources who claim Rooney has been "plunged into despair" and that "he is now terrified he could lose his wife and son after his stupid behaviour".

The Star also claims that, in what is yet another echo of Tiger Woods's fall from grace, Coca Cola are about to pull the plug on Rooney's £600,000-a-year sponsorship deal.

American executives at the Atlanta-based soft drinks giant had already been appalled by the recent pictures of the Scouser smoking and urinating in the street, and the revelations over visits to prostitutes could be the final straw.

As messy as Rooney's life has become in the last week or so he still has some way to go before he equals Marlon King's rap sheet - but the 30-year-old striker is set for a return to professional football with Coventry two months after being released from prison following a conviction for sexual assault.

The Daily Mirror reports that Sky Blues manager Aidy Boothroyd has admitted the signing of the 30-year-old is "inevitable".

And finally David Beckham has been talking about his England future after lining up for LA Galaxy at the weekend for the first time in six months.

Becks is confident that he is still in the frame following private conversations with Fabio Capello.

"If I'm fit then I'm sure the manager will consider me," said the 35-year-old while admitting that he is still well short of match fitness despite a performance manager Bruce Arena described as "inspirational".

"I've never been out of the game for such a long time and after being out there 10 minutes I was dying," said Beckham.

BITTER Wayne Rooney may be set to take the ultimate revenge on his boss Sir Alex Ferguson - with a sensational move to Manchester City.
The star is determined to quit Manchester United over a rift with Fergie that has seen the Old Trafford boss blank him for a month.

And Rooney has told pals he might swap his red shirt for the blue strip of their fierce local rivals.

Rooney and Ferguson have not exchanged a word since clashing over the troubled striker's hooker romps.

A source close to Roo, who has refused to sign a new contract, said last night: "To say relations are strained is a massive understatement - they haven't spoken for a month.

"Wayne doesn't just feel frozen out, he feels like he's been put into deep freeze.

"Sir Alex ignores him in training and treats him with utter contempt. There's no way he can stay at United if it continues."

Old Trafford officials have played down talk of a transfer for the £90,000-a-week ace, calling it "nonsense".

But the source said: "The Rooney camp feel sure he will no longer be a United player once the January transfer window opens.

"He's under such a cloud he wants out."

Rooney is being a stupid boy. He will never win over Alex Ferguson. He would just be better to keep his trap shut and get on with it. Man U will never sell him. What they'll do is make him sit on the bench until the end of the summer. No-one will want him he's been too out priced.
