Guess when Samantha Giles left to explore other things it has not worked out, hence she is back as Bernice to pick up with Liam.

There are many unlikeable characters in Emmerdale and that Mackenzie is their king.

This was a dismal episode. We are lead to believe that Kim is a very rich, very successful, very powerful business woman, but all proof we have of this, is that she has an outdoor pursuit centre, that no one ever seems to use, except a few villagers. At one time there was a climbing centre somewhere on Home Farm, is that still here? Apart from that she rents out some farming property. Does she have other unseen business interests? From what I can see her income would barely cover the upkeep of the house. Did she think that a free lunch would be enough to make one of them confess to poisoning her brandy?
If the Bernice v Leyla battle for the heart and hand of Dr Liam is the story that brought her back from Australia, I think she should have stayed down under. More likely she found it hard to get other work after being in a Soap for so long.
