I think the fact Lisa left it so long to report it and her flirty relationship with Derek before the rape might have cost her rape case

This story has probably put women off reporting a rape.

The shock and trauma would probably be a lot to take in. Then when they get the courage to go to the police, they are not believed for leaving it to long.

The story was going well, till they ruined it at the end .
