Finally got Mum hooked on Emmerdale cos she never realised a soap could be funny too - she's always been on the dark side or BBC1 Eastenders to use it's other name. Now she is an Emmerdalian in training. Hooray!
i am pleased your mum is enjoying emmerdale. i too am a fan and feel it dosent get the credit it deserves.

however i would not recommend your mum ditching the walford soap she may get side effects and withdrawl symtoms.

i know this is an emmerdale thread but i feel the urge to stick up for the walford soap. i have never bought into the myth ee is depressing and all doom and gloom. fridays ee had some nice humour in it, with denise and zaniab in the minute mart.

why on earth would Rachel - a domestic cleaner - be cleaning a food preparation factory??!!

so all the workers have to wear hygiene related coat, gloves and hats, and Rachel swans around using the duster from the pub??!!

Is it just me or does Racheal look more dark skinned now, maybe she's just trying to look more like Jai because she's interested in him.

The sign of a depressing soaps is when people can remember 'funny bits'

With a moniker like yours you must obviously be an expert on "funny bits"

    And Emmerdale isn't a pantomime.
    Oh yes it is!
    Oh no it isn't!

Actually I did wonder about some of the cows on the farm - especially the one that dances!!!!!

the pantomine jibe wasnt aimed at emmerdale, but at another northern soap.

that isnt a swipe at corrie either, the humour in the street works well for that type of continuing drama. its the nations fav and apart of our culture as much as a full english, fish and chips and the sunday roast. its like a comfy pair of slippers.
